Slightly off-topic: I'm looking for a free image of a modern digital recorder viewfinder but with transparency so I can stick an image behind all the display info. Anyone have something like this they can share or point to?

Did you try opening that very same image in Preview and using the “magic wand” to delete the background?
I pulled a pretty decent key in FCPX:
I had to redraw the outline because of the watermark and there are telltale marks if you look closely enough. AWB looks just a little blocky.
However, truthfully, I did not use Keyer (or any color correction effects that are built in). I have my own tools I built.
If you get the alpha across most it you could probably paint out the bad text and replace it with something clearer in a graphics application.
Thanks you very much for the suggestion Luis. I tried and it gets close but some of the display text is a little too small and looks pretty bad.
Wow fox_m, that looks so much better than what I was able to do. I ended up having a friend take some pics of an Odyssey viewfinder.
