iPhone SE 2020 battery health

I have had the same issue. Mine has deteriorated so quickly. After a year of use I am at 87%. I contacted Apple support a few months back when it was low 90s….and basically they said “no batteries don’t last forever”. They did a diagnostic check and said all is good.

Older iPhones like 7 and 8 seemed not to deteriorate as fast. My wife got a 7 plus at around the time of release and hers was used so hard - hers is at 83 after many years.

I do believe iPhone SE 2020 batteries are not good, speaking first hand after one year of use.

I was 90% on JUL06/2021 and I just checked today, JUL09/2021 before my appointment at the Apple Genius Bar and it has dropped to 87% during the past 4 days!!!bHave I done anything special? Not at all 😒😒😒

I just got out of my Apple Store appointment and they said “ well, on the past 10 days you mainly used Safari, WhatsApp and Facebook. This drains a lot on your battery, this is all normal”.

Really?! My brother’s iPhone 6S that is about 5 years old is down at 87%. Mine is not even 1 year old…

Mine too. 11 month old, battery health is at 90%. My mother’s 1st generation IPhone se is at 83%.

The batteries are definitely defective. Even cheap unbraided Chinese batteries would have better battery health. It seems apple have used defective lot of iPhone 7/ 8 to iPhone se. I regret buying this phone. This would be probably my last iPhone.

Same issue here. Got my wife one in October 2020, and is already showing 91% battery life. It was 93% last Monday. And it has been charging with the 5W charger that came in the box.

I wouldn't worry too much about 96% battery health over 3-4 months. However, if it goes lower than 70%, you should definitely take it to a store for a checkup.

me too, but the battery health would decrease if i overcharged it between a minutes. so i think dont charge it until 100, 95 is enough

I recommend you guys not to buy the iPhone as second generation I am shocked about the battery when I had a iPhone 6s my battery health was 100 for a year however I’ve had this for 2 months and it’s at 99 I’m very disappointed

I got my IPhone SE2 in April of this year and I’m at 94% battery health. I had a regular iPhone SE for over 3 years I only got to 86% battery health. Seems to me like iPhone is literally still destroying our phones. I’m still on iOS 13 BTW. And it barely holds a charge. Like come on I’ll watch something for 20 minutes, down 20 percent... really?

I bought iPhone SE 2020 from Apple Online store on 5 June 2020. Previously, i went to Apple Store on 5 Dec 2020 to check up my phone and report that my battery health only at 93%, after 6 months using it. The assistant told me to factory reset my phone, and turned off the background app refresh settings. Surprisingly, at to date now - on 27 Dec 2020, my battery health dropped to 89% since then. Exactly 22 days I went to Apple Store. For information, i am rarely used my phone and only charged once a day after working hours. And I don’t let my phone over charge overnight, and I only used original charging cable from Apple. And even I bought Belkin wireless charging port for my phone. Please someone overlook this matter. This is something wrong with iPhone SE. Thanks

I have the same problem. Bought August 10th, 5 months and its at 96%! I love the SE but I am willing to replace it for a fricking phone that will last a couple years instead of a couple months.

Also, my friend got his iPhone 11 in March and its already at 80%!!!

I have the same issue and very disappointed as it was advertised to have very long lasting battery. Got it in July, when I saw that battery went down way quicker I checked in December and it was 95%, now 94%. I had 6s before and it took way longer time for the battery to wear off like that

I’m at 95% and have only had phone for 5 months... that’s 24 minutes off the expected 8 hour life if you are streaming video. Again in 5 months. At this rate I’ll be at 89% health, and I’ll be paying for a new battery. That’s not ok

I am hoping that Apple’s management team is monitoring this defection and will address it soon. The old SE I had stayed at 100% for over a year at least if not longer. When I spoke with the tech department I was advised that until the battery health dropped under 80% nothing could be done. Let’s hope that this problem will be rectified soon as I really enjoy and love their products.

mine is at 88% now, not even a complete year yet. At the rate it is decreasing it won’t last 2 years. I used my Old SE for 4 years and battery health dropped to 79 after 4 years of usage. Additionally, what happened to A13 chip being more power efficient? Ironic.

Apple definitely needs to provide a solution to this
