iPhone SE 2020 battery health

Dear QuickTimeKirk that would still not fix the problem. This is a forum to help one another not to assume I am making stories. Check with MetroPCS, Boost Mobile or Cricket if you want a deal on iPhones. I send people there a lot because I really like iPhones. Again mr kirk we are asking for a solution from the technical department not that a 2% or more battery deficiency is ok. iPhones are the best cell phones and we want them to last. We don’t want to place them in low power battery mode to make it through the day. I do that plus have the screen go out after 30 seconds these 2 things will help.

Guys, QuickTimeKirk is not one of you, he's an Apple employee in disguise. I have an iPhone 5S that's 3 years old and 711 charge cycles, the battery health is at 87%. I also have a 1st gen SE which is 5 years old with 1,700 charge cycles and battery health at 75%. Something's definitely wrong with the second gen SE that you guys have.

The older versions are the best. I would use the older ones over the new but, Apple doesn’t support them so we are stuck with the new junk. I got my SE in august 2020 and my battery is at 91%. I have to plug it in constantly while my 5C lasts literally all day.

Same thing here, I bought my iPhone SE2 on July 2020 and the battery health has been declining about 1% per month... As of today, 9 months after purchase, the battery health is 92%.

My previous iPhone reached 95% after 3-4 years of use. So to me, this is definitely not normal and extremely disappointing!

On top of that, I keep having random bugs on the phone... If Apple doesn’t do anything, I will probably switch to another brand with less issues!

I got mine SE2 two months ago. Use as primary phone, and now the battery health dropped to 94%. When I first pick up my se, it has manufactural issue. It turn out my exchange one also has some issue on the screens angle. Idk why iPhone recently has really bad quality, my Mac, iPhone... what’s going on apple? Even Huawei getting better right now!!!

Mine is at 87% too. This is definitely a problem. At this rate, it will hit <80% before the 2 year mark. I’m certain that we will no longer get answers here.

Certain higher level users may invalidate this issue and claim it’s normal. For e.g., by claiming the iPhone 8 has a ‘better’ battery? How can it since it’s the exact same phone. Additionally, SE uses the A13 Bionic, supposedly the far superior chip which was advertised for its efficiency while IPhone 8 uses the A11.

It does not make sense for SE2020 battery to degrade this fast.

At this juncture, I have given up hope for a solution to this. I will use my SE2020 for long as possible.

My guess is perhaps the physically smaller SE2020 battery cannot handle IOS 15/16.

It’s not that I don’t like the answers given, the reason why many of us are posting here regarding the battery health issue is that it does not match in line with our experience of using an iPhone prior to SE2020. My usage patterns have remained the same and I would imagine that is the case for most people.

I had an original SE previously and the rate of degradation was much lower.

I disagree, this depends on how one uses the iPhone. This is anecdotal experience but peers around me use other models (8,8+,X, XR,XS etc) and their battery health is not close to going below 80% after 2 years.

My cousin has the same phone as me but had it for over a year and his battery health is at 90%. Maybe the battery’s they put in iPhone se 2020 weren’t good or we got the iPhone se’s with bad batteries. Maybe the 7 and 8 have better battery’s

how can you speak for “most” of the estimated 30 million SE 2020 users?

This is a really short thread if 30 million users are affected. The last time even 5 million users were affected by a battery problem the thread ran to 840 pages with 13,000 posts, literally. This thread has 159 posts, many of them multiple posts from just a few users. And most of those are complaining about devices that are meeting their specs. The complaint is that they are not exceeding their specs.

I have a contract iPhone se and I have had this phone for about a month now and my battery finishes quite fast and my battery health is at 99%

Apple does not replaced batteries that have 91% health.

Your battery is just fine and it's not a design failure.

Yep! I’ve had mine for 10 months and it’s on 89%. It took 4 years for my 6 plus to get there. Something must be done!

stop it please!! and mine is 91% now after 10 months!! This is my 6th iPhone, and I had NEVER HAD problems like that with any previous model. So stop it dude!

i have apple care so it will cost nothing. Without it costs around 29$ or sth I think
