Please do both a NVRAM reset and restart in Safe Mode and then restart normally and test. Instructions for these are in:

I wish only to give feedback what solved the problem. One of my experts here in Sweden was on the right track, when he proposed something, which became a walk-around. Set up a new user. Then the camera worked.

Today I opened my case at Apple's support and Gustav solved it. His colleague was also on the right track. I took away all startobjects – 4 program. Then it worked.

Puuuuh. Thanks for support!

You can save you and us a lot of time and effort of playing 20 questions if you do the following:

Please navigate to the Mac App Store or navigate to www.Etrecheck.com and download the free version of EtreCheck. Once you have you downloaded the app and installed it, please run the report and save it. This report will help us get a good idea what has been installed on your system and help us be able to diagnose what may be wrong.

When you have your report, you can attach it when you reply to this message and we can then review it and help you determine what is needed to get your system running well again.

Thanks,

i have tried both your tips, but no solution. I have also talked to people here in Sweden. No has a real solution...

Well one proposed a workaround - set up a new user. That worked for both cameras – internal and external. This person has heavy workload, so he couldn't help me more. He thought perhaps it could be a missing or damaged plist file (perhaps I describe this correct). Anyhow I still want a real solution – not a workaround...

I carried out also the tip from den.thed (below), but no luck. I will tell den.thed too.

I checked also Security and Integrity, so it was correct. I think so. Below a print screen...

So, any more proposal?

Please uninstall Clean My Mac, it is considered malware by experienced users. Mac OS does not require or benefit from using any third party antivirus, security, cleaning or any other "maintenance" apps. If you keep Mac OS up to date and otherwise leave it alone it should be fine.

Please locate the developers instruction to uninstall CMM and follow to the letter.

I would recommend that you install Malwarebytes and see if it finds any adware install or other issues you may have installed.

You also installed MacKeeper and that is still partially installed so that needs to go too.

Finally you have Cocktail installed, 10 years ago that used to be useful today it's garbage and should be uninstalled completely.

To ensure you get rid of all the parts of MacKeeper and Cocktail download FindanyFile and run it and search for each of those words and move them to the Trash and empty the Trash.

Many thanks for your advices! They was good as such, but I have still the problem that the camera freezes the picture after some minutes. Both the internal and an external (Logitech HD Webcam 615 + relevant software), which should be OK. It works with my MacBook. If I e.g. change camera in Facetime or Photoboth, then the camera will be activated again and then freezes...

I have also done Apple Diagnostics for my iMac and no problems detected. I got reference code ADP000.

So, what to do?
