Battery drain after iOS 14 update.
I had installed the new ios 14 and my battery drained from 90% to 10% without me even touching the phone. This has never happened before.
Please Apple fix asap.

The actual “notes” app that comes on the phone. That is where it said it was using a lot of my battery and it said it was running in the background for a long time. Nothing was supposed to even be running in the background but that app kept drawing from my battery nonstop. I deleted it and reinstalled and haven’t had a problem since. Not sure if that’s the problem app everyone is having problems with but you can check. If you go into settings, then down to battery. If you scroll down on the page it shows how much battery time is used on each app. If there’s one that seems like a crazy amount of time, it could be the problem?
Apple does this so you consider buying a new phone. It intentionally done to trigger more sales
I have brand new 12 pro max its battery health is draining 1% every week it all happens after updating to 14.7.1 can apple fix this or we have to face this issue rest of our life.
Apple is doing this intentionally to promote sale of new devices. They are doing business with bad ethics. Not at all desired from such big name.
My phone is only a year old and I had to upgrade my phone because of a battery issue last! Is there any way to remove iOS 14 it’s killing my phone and this is not fair I cannot afford any phone.
I agree
I've noticed a very similar issue with my phone. It's been over a week that Ive been experiencing this on my iPhone Xs (so the indexing theory isn't relevant any more). I've tried 14.0.1 and it didn't help at all (been on that for two or three days) I went from getting all day battery (no less than 50% left each day at 11pm) to being at 10% by 5pm with only moderate use. This was NEVER an issue until upgrading to 14. So telling me to turn of all the things in the background etc. that I was doing comfortably before 14 is not an answer TBH.
How old is your iPhone? After about 2-3 years (depending on use) the batteries can become exhausted and need replacing. This isn't the fault of the OS and a battery replacement will get you back to good as new.
Even though I think there are a few issues here, I have experienced the inaccurate battery % bug, but also dropping from 100% after overnight chargingto 10% in a few seconds! Then after reboot back to 100%!
Thanks for the suggestion. I deleted almost all of the widgets from the widget screen and the battery drain slowed significantly. As you said, I'm not sure it's back to iOS 13 performance, but it's much better than it was. The problem is with the widgets.
Man my iPhone 11 battery drains faster than a roller coaster after updating to iOS 14...100% to 0 in 4 hours .... like WTF??? I have to charge my phone 3 times a day. The only reason I switched from Samsung to Apple was the smoother software experience and not the hardware.... but this battery drain is seriously making me consider buying an S20 now.... The battery on Samsung phones is amazing tbh
Have the same problem with Iphone SE first generation after updating to iOS14. Battery drained overnight. Two activities shown phone 60% and home screen 30%. Background app activity off. Battery health 86%.
Do you have a third party VPN or Profile installed on your Phone?
Settings > General > Profiles
Settings > General > VPN
Those types of items interact deeply at the OS level and won’t show up in the battery use area. If so consider contacting the developer or try removing them to see if that resolves the issue.
The only other recommendation I have is to back up your phone and photos. Then erase all content and settings. Use the phone for one day and see if the battery life improves. I have friends with older iPhones that are not experiencing this.
Battery saver option doesn't work. Even with no background refresh/apps open, the battery life drains significantly faster than it was in iOS 11/12/13. Just for your reference, 2 weeks ago I have changed my iPhone battery through Apple service centre. My battery health is 100%. Of course BBC article is not meant for recommending how to save battery life, it is just meant for reference to how Apple is held guilty by the court for throttling older iOS devices.

I'm done with apple, its rotten.
Bought an android for a fraction of the cost of an iphone. Love it.
Battery lasts two to three days.
Instead of paying apple to replace the battery, I spent a couple hundred more and bought a brand new phone.
I am not going to fall for apple's tricks any more.
You dont buy into this? Apple literally had to pay millions in a lawsuit = “Batterygate” because they were doing just that.
