iPhone keeps freezing after iOS 14 update

iPhone X keeps freezing with new iOS 14 update. Will freeze in any app or even sitting idle and will go to black apple screen and restart. Factory reset did not fix it.

I have the same issue with iPhone X. It was working fine before the 14 update (before last night).... now crashes every few minutes. Have gone through deleting all Apps that I don't need and more, did a reset, still same issues. Very frustrating and disappointing.... Depend on my phone for work and with these issues not sure what to do :( :( ....

14.1 did nothing to resolve my issues. iMessage is always stuck when I open a conversation I start typing and always it lags and then catches up with text. annoying but not over the top. What’s bad is anytime I reboot reset, which o have to do all the time now, iMessages are useless for about 30 minutes. App won’t even open. I get white screen then crash then finally it opens. Sometimes I have setting that keep changing themselves also why can’t I shut down my iPhone anymore? Every time I shut it down it just boots back up all on it’s own. I’ve never been able to shut my phone off since 14. I needed to shut it down to save battery until I could charge it and the phone would not allow me to shut it off? I’m shopping androids now. Won’t buy another iPhone and wow really iPhone 12 comes with no charger? And a cable which is incompatible cord that won’t connect to the billion chargers out in the world? This company is just broken. islaves not customers anymore.

Regarding the 14 upgrades it’s really a downgrade.

Freezing, crashing, it’s just a bad way to go a lot of my friends have left Apple and got over a Samsung they say it’s great so I don’t know Apple I’m disappointing Apple I don’t think it’s a way for them to try to make more money. I doubt that they just didn’t think it through and they need to fix it before more people leave I’m pretty disappointed myself I don’t know what I’m gonna do yet I’m thinking about going to a different phone system though because I use this as my work phone and I’ve always depended on Apple because it’s been so dependable but it’s just not anymore. So really it’s no better than anybody else and Samsung has really great reviews

My iPhone X is still struggling since downgrading from iOS 13 to 14. Firstly it stalled regularly and the battery life was much worse than before. 14.1 solved the battery life, and 14.2 helped with the stalling, but the problem still exists. About twice a day it slows considerably - I’ve noticed it particularly when in Safari though today it’s happened when I was using Messages.

On mine, the screen Zooms in and out, apps launch randomly and key presses operate them - it’s like watching a ghost at work! This presumably occurs because some rogue processes drag the processor to a halt and my frustrated key presses are interpreted wrongly. Re-booting the phone helps temporarily but everything stalls again after a few hours.

I’ve wiped the phone, performed a factory reset, and rebuilt from backup but the problem still exists. My iPad suffers too, though not as regularly as the phone. I didn’t have a problem with either on ios13 - they just worked, which is what you expect from Apple. No more though, both provide a very frustrating experience. My first Android phone almost 10 years ago was much better than this!

ios14 offers no advantages to me and many disadvantages. Is it possible to downgrade to ios13?

I think that a fault in the coding of ios14 stalls processing which slows down the running of any open app at the time, and this is the problem that you’re also seeing. I find that after a minute or so things get back to normal, but the stalling repeats more frequently after that. It’s temporarily resolved by a hard reset - on iPhone X rapidly press volume up, then volume down, then hold down the right side button until the Apple logo appears. This ‘fixes’ mine for perhaps a day or so before the stalling starts again, and then I repeat the reset. It’s a pain in the *rse.

For me, 14.1 helped with the poor battery life, and 14.2 lessened the frequency of the stalling problem, though it still happens.

Perhaps by iOS 14.4 Apple will have fixed it. It’s especially annoying because iOS 14 has given me no benefit in operation, just some simple and pointless gloss and bling that I don’t need and would gladly sacrifice for the reliability and consistency of iOS 13.

Once again, it’s as if Apple deliberately generates faults on ‘older’ phones (remember when iPhone X was being advertised as the greatest ever phone 🙄) to encourage (coerce is probably a better word) customers into replacing their phones with a new model).

My brand spanking new iPhone Apple pro 12 also does the same thing it freezes in apps it freezes on the home screen considering I’ve spent over $1600 and just come back from Samsung I’m not very impressed with Apple at all I’m actually disgusted that they would do that they need to fix this immediately it’s having an impact and I run a lot of my stuff on my mobile phone from my company so this is having an impact financially
