iPhone keeps freezing after iOS 14 update

This is unreal! If this many have complained on here there must be thousands if not millions with the same problem. Sometimes I must reboot to get it to unfreeze.

Apple, please at least tell us you feel our pain and are working on it!!!

Software update 14.1 released today. I'm updating now and keeping my fingers crossed. Because freezing makes my iPhone useless as a light switch, navigation software, a remote control, a camera and many other options.

This worked for the better part of day and then went right back to freezing and hanging many times throughout the day. Been over a month now, very frustrating.

Will try 14.1 today and see if that fixes it.

My experience with 14.1 is really mixed. At the beginnings apps were working better, but the more I use it the more, things go back to the previous situation: non native apps behave erratically, sometimes finely and sometimes badly. We need either app updates or 14.1.1

APPLE, when is 14.2 is rolling out? 14.1 is not better than 14.01.

I am totally fed-up to (try to) work with crippled devices.

I believe, it's probably the buggiest release I ever experienced

in 20 years of using APPLE products....

I installed 14.1 this week and it's a disaster. My phone has been freezing and shutting down at all sorts of points. This morning it's restarting perpetually, and went from 100% charge to 10% in about 20 minutes. Am trying to get through to support but I don't hold out much hope.

Same here. I was trying to avoid the update, but my answer phone stopped working, and my carrier suggested it as a fix.

It didnt fix it, and now this is an additional pain. The biggest problem is when I call people, it looks like the call button isnt working, but calls them in the background. This keep catching me out.

I also tried the reset advice. Zero improvement.

I'm really starting to get very frustrated.My iphone 11 pro gets completely stuck about twice a day. After a few minutes, the Apple logo appears automatically.

I've already tried everything, ios 14.1, a clean installation and even went to a premium reseller for diagnoses. They did some testing and benchmarking but couldn't find anything...

Well the evening has come and gone and mine still freezing constantly. My friends have had the same problem with iPhone after the 14. I am seriously thinking of going to a different phone system than Apple. I hate to but I just can’t do business this way and many of my friends have told me they got the Samsung and it works great no problem with the freezing.

It has been freezing sporadically for several months. I agree shame on you Apple I expected more out of you

I had the same problem and took it into an Apple store 3 times.

they reset it all to factory setting twice and I was still having the problem. They finally replaced it as I had Apple care. If I hadn’t it would have cost £400.

the funny thing is it carried on freezing up, then after a couple of days it just stopped. I don’t know when, I just realised it wasn’t freezing up anymore. That was 3 days before the 14.1 updates came out. I updated the phone just in case but I can say I’ve had no problems since and I will be very reluctant to update again.

My iPhone 11 Pro Max tried to do the update over night to the new iOS 14 and when I woke up the apple logo was stuck. It was so strange. My alarms went off and siri worked to turn them off; however, the logo was frozen. I was so annoyed initially because i could not get my alarms to shut off.

Now I had to plug it into iTunes and am hoping this will fix it. It is taking forever. This is definitely not the way I wanted to start my day. I wish the automatic updates were turned off.

My iPhone X with iOS 14 the keyboard kept freezing, now I have an iPhone 12 and the keyboard freezes on it a lot. It's annoying. Almost want to return the phone since it seems it isn't working properly.

I posted on here awhile back about the freezing on my 11 Pro when I was at my wits end. When I upgraded it initially it was 14.01. (Never got 14.0) About 10 days ago I saw I could go to 14.1. It solved my problems and I’ve had no problems since. Fingers crossed. Hoping this post doesn’t jinx it. ;). I know others are on 14.1 with lots of problems so I don’t know if it’s the actual upgrade or the progression or what. An Apple mystery. You know they have someone following this forum. So not sure what the issue really is or why they aren’t addressing it.

Me too - ever since the update. I’ve tried the hard reset and that fixes it for an hour or two - and then I have to do it again.

let’s go APPLE - I expect better! Ridiculous (and a serious pain in the you know what!).

My IPhone froze and would not power off. If you tried to power off it dials 911. Eventually I let it dial 911 and hung up immediately. That allowed me to restart the phone but the cops came. I took out SIM card, everything! So I turned off auto dial sos. Really nasty.
