watchOS 7 Battery Drain
I updated my series 4 Apple Watch to WatchOS 7 today. I use my watch all day and usually have about 30% battery left when I go to bed and start changing. Today my phone got to 10% by 2:30 pm! Why is this drawing so quickly?

well no difference with hand off. On to something else.
Same. Series 5. I have to charge three times a day and I’m not even that active so I’m not tracking workouts. Just existing throughout my day. Please fix this!
Fortunately, battery use still normal after the Unpair/Pair from Backup but my AW4 has again lost the ability to unlock my Mac Pro (2013). Toggling Bluetooth off and on didn't work this time. :(
I’ve tried everything, paired, unpaired, rebooted, reset, setup as new, turned everything off that I can, and it’s still averaging 9% battery usage per hour.
Thanks Janutsa. I'm glad to read that Apple is working on a solution so I'll live with the unlocking problem. I really feel sorry for those whose AW still has the enormous battery drain problem.
The sad thing is you would expect Apple to be on to this rapidly and sort the issue and tell us they are doing so. This sort of communication from Apple has always been poor.
So it’s not just my Apple Watch 5. 40% of battery drained in 8 hours. Background app refresh disabled. I disabled hands washing detection
Apple Watch 4 : same here , battery drain in 6-10 hours .
solved : walkie talkie was yellow and activated in watch menu (swip up)
Thanks, but it did not work for me. I will try to disable bluetooth and then re-enable it, but my iMac is wireless, so have to get my hands on a wired setup before I can try that.
You are lucky. I already had "Immediately" selected and "Disable automatic login" de-selected. I did the reverse, no joy. I set it back to Immediately and deselected Disable. No joy.
Please post your results, so we know that it is worth the installation. Thank you for giving it a go!
Hopefully it provides a fix. Unfortunately I decided to try the public beta to see if that helped with my battery, so this update is not available to me. Maybe in the next public beta update.
Well, Apple just released an update to 7.0.2 that address the battery drain. So, I'm happy that you Dgraugh wasn't affected. Thanks.
I see they have answered one query but in an oblique way by saying the bug has affected some users, implying not all. Hence why some of us were “cured” others suffered.
Mine (Watch 6) with 7.0.2 shows normal use and no problems, although I would say the battery is showing a more left than I used to normally expect this time of the day.
