Is there any way to return to the calendar format prior to the latest update?

Sounds like good suggestions to give to Apple. Meanwhile, you may want to look at other calendar apps. If you're an old Palm hand, look at Week Cal.

This is a user-to-user forum. No one here knows when or if this will be changed. Apple's participation in these forums does not include making such announcements.

Apple is not reading here for feedback. So, you're message is only going to other users who can do nothing to effect the change you want to see. Use the feedback page:

I suspect Apple doesn't care if you use the built in calendar app or another one. The make the same amount of money either way.

No, Apple is NOT reading the comments here (as has been pointed out on every page of this thread). If you want Apple to know your thoughts, use the proper channel:

You don't need to scroll. Tap the time and you get a numeric keyboard that fills up about a third of the screen.

You've never been able to search for dates more than a year back in the built in Calendar app. That's not new to iOS 14.

When you tap on the time, you should see a numeric keypad appear on the screen. Use that to type in the time. While I realize everyone has their preferences, I have to say I find this method so much easier than scrolling through the wheel to set the time.

I really like the new format. I have HATED those one-armed-bandit selection wheels since a clearly misguided Apple first created them. With the new calendar if I want to add an event for 10:13 I just type “10:13” in the app. Try to do that with the one-armed-bandit. No need to spin backwards or forwards from the current time.

However, for people who do like them there are dozens of calendar apps in the app store that still work the inferior old way.
