Use the option at that link to submit feedback regarding the iPhone.

You don’t have to keep your finger in the window. Just tap the hour and scroll all the way to the top of the screen or bottom of the screen then do the same with the minutes. Or just tap the time and a number pad will open and just enter it that way.

So basically the new calendar is more difficult and time consuming to enter events irrespective of experience of previous calendars and is also less easy to read. The previous version which tabulated dates in a grid and showed event free days as well as days with events was far easier to scan at a glance.

Google has a pretty good calendar app, but it is restricted to a Google-hosted calendar. There are some really outstanding calendar apps in the app store that are far better than Apple’s calendar ever was (which I’ve never actually used in 13 years). For many of us it isn't intuitive to choose a start time, then a date, then an end time. Most appointments occur on the same date. When your eyes naturally move down the screen and have to process a time, then a calendar, then switch back to time, it's cognitively jarring. The prior software version had your brain processing start/stop time, then date in separate cognitive steps.

Totally agree. The process of changing times/dates on the new update is a pain in the neck and takes way too long. You could previously change the time of an existing meeting and/or a new meeting by tapping the time and adding the 15 min increments. That worked just fine and was much easier than the new process of scrolling through the 60 minutes and/or using the touch screen keypad to manually add them. It is too complicated. Please change it back to the old way.

Is not reading here. Use the feedback link that has been given on just about every page of this thread. I know I used it to tell Apple how much I like the new time entry keypad in the Calendar app.

Exactly, the updated CALANDER is so poorly designed and frustrating to operate via keypad, you should use SIRI and disregard the keyboard altigether.

In the mean time maybe Apple will read and respond to some of the comments & complaints posted. .., GOOD LUCK!

The thing is, you go on about horrible ergonomics as if it is a fact rather than an opinion; I and many others here find the interface much improved, where I can set start and end times precisely by entering them with just a few taps, speeding up the process massively.

You seem quite adamant about disliking the change, which is fine, but be aware no one here other than other users is reading your complaints.

Instead, let Apple know here:

Yes, quite a bit of private and public beta testing. And, it's also based on feedback from customers, both manual, and the automatic (that reporting that most people probably agreed to when they installed the software.

The calendar is just another indication as to how poor Apple usability has become in recent years, as far as I can tell Apple has completely lost it! The fact that the competition software is even more crap than Apple's is not an excuse for the world's leading phone and software manufacture to churn out such dross.

Based on how few complaints there have been about the calendar (versus the huge number of iPhone users), I'd say most people either like the change or don't care very much. I'm in the liking it category. Setting times for events is so much easier. I suspect Apple has been getting feedback about getting rid of those scrollers for years.

Please try harder Apple, employ user researchers and improve the usability of your software there is no excuse for this.

Everything wrong? The new calendar app is way better than the stupid slot machine model of the previous version. I love being able to just enter “10:28 AM” on the keypad rather than spin through 12 or more hours and 28 minute entries. I have sent feedback to Apple thanking them for making this improvement.

And for people into the slot machine paradigm there are still plenty of 3rd party calendar apps that haven’t updated to this greatly improved version.
