On my Apple Watch Series 5 Does not work the Handwashing Feature

Hey Apple,

yesterday i updated my Apple Watch Series 5 to Watch Os7 , and I have Seen its new feature the handwashing detection , in some videos,

but i have an issue this feature just doesn't work on my Apple watch, when i wash my hand it just doesn't Detect the Water sound and Doesn't start the Timer of 20 Seconds....I dont know why i am Having this issue... Please tell me the Reason.... Now i am worried about my apple watch

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

It sounds like you have updated your Apple Watch Series 5 but the Handwashing feature is not working as expected for you.

What iPhone is this Apple Watch paired to? Has the iPhone been updated to iOS 14? If not, update your iPhone and restart it.

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Restart your Apple Watch - How to restart your Apple Watch

Check to see if the microphone is working on the Apple Watch. Use Siri to do this:

Use Siri on Apple Watch - Apple Watch User Guide - watchOS 7

Review the setup instructions again - Set up Handwashing on Apple Watch - Apple Watch User Guide - watchOS 7

Add:

After enabling Handwashing, you need to scrub your hand by turning them up and down and rubbing/washing.

Hello judysings, Thank you for replying,

i have iphone 11 and yes it is already Updated to ios 14 :(

i have also reset my apple watch and paired again to my iphone and Turned on the Hand washing Feature and the Notification too, But still my Apple watch doesn't Start a Timer when i wash my hand, I have also tried on Loud tap water but still it doesn't work

i don't know what can be the problem

Did you switch Handwashing ON?

On iPhone > Watch app > Handwashing > Handwashing Timer: ON

On Watch > Settings > Handwashing > Hand washing Timer: ON

when actually i rubbed my Hands For A moment!!!
