iPhone 11 Pro Max won't turn off or reset

Hello, My iPhone 11 Pro Max won't turn off. The screen isn't frozen but no apps will open. My screen won't even go to sleep. I've tried holding down the power and volume button but nothing will work. Please help.

I was able to stop this using Find My iPhone on my computer.

Steps:

  1. Sign into your iCloud account here from the link on the bottom: https://support.apple.com/explore/find-my
  2. Select the device from the drop down menu at the top of the screen under "My Devices"
  3. Enable "Lost Mode" on the displayed menu (you can enter a fake phone number, just enable)
  4. Once you see your phone is in "Lost Mode", select the "Lost Mode" option again and press the "Stop Lost Mode" button at the bottom

Your phone should return to the lock screen and have full functionality returned.

Good luck!

You have to let it die and then charge it. If no troubleshooting issues are working such as the standard volume up and down button as well as hold. Afterwards, make sure there isn’t any pending updates. I just went through this, and I had it looked at today even though it came back on and reset itself. I still wanted to be safe. The tech updated it, ran a full diagnostic and its fine but my iPhone is a new 11 and barely a year old so my thing is it never should’ve happened ! But yeah give it a try, hope it works for you !
