Face Id not working after iOS 14 update -iPhone X

Not at all. I’ve just come to accept the fact that I won’t use Face ID or portrait selfie mode

Iod 14.6 has killed my camera and face id

same bro, i switched to my old iPhone se 1st gen, works perfectly, but very disappointing.

Face id and cameras died totally after updating to 14.6. Don't know what to do next

After they updated my phone to 14.6-14.7 at the store this happened and now they don’t want to cover my phone because is 100 days out of warranty😡😡

Both cameras and faceId died on my iphone after it automatically updated to 14.7

shame On you apple, for letting customers down and just ignore over 2800 posts about an issue caused by your update.

you know sane people would not accept this and this is stopping them from buying new hardware from you? Just imagine what a bunch of small investors could do to a global player like Marvin capital, even with little buying power- as a crowd they are powerful.

don’t lean back on innovations from the last decade- involved people won’t accept this behavior

I took mine to Best Buy (they are Apple certified) after speaking to someone at Apple and they had no fix. They said this isn’t a know problem and I would have to pay out of pocket to fix it because my phone was out of warranty. I called Apple after that and they wouldn’t listen to a word I had to say. Even when I pointed out that it was a growing problem on their community page and asked them if they had any interest in listening to their customers because it seemed like they could care less. The woman got defensive saying they listen to their customers and told me for the 100th time that this isn’t a know problem with Apple. At that point I told her Apple sucked and I would make sure everyone knew how horrible their customer service was.

I wish there was a back up method to get into the phone without Face ID. rather than having to put a passcode in every time I open my phone.

Yes, I am sure the answer instigar is out of warranty. However, they made something unrepairable so that people buy in to the system that when it fails, you buy a new new one, since no one can fix it. It is badly designed, and badly supported. This is like having a sensor go bad in your car, and the shop tell you that the entire car needs to replaced. Bad apple , bad apple...

Well, they have more competitors today, and the plan has always been that you upgrade your phone every year. At least I used too, but when every release brought a tremendous innovation.

Nowadays they just keep adding cameras. I personally don’t need that many camera. Soon enough the iPhone 13 will have 5 cameras in the back. Maybe iPhone 15 will have 10 cameras...maybe the whole phone will be covered with cameras.

I am just surprised that customer service and quality has been impacted by greedy investors. They found another way to make people upgrade their phone.... let’s make those phone fail and if they have apple care, then it ok to fix because they are paying anyways.

I just missed when the iPhone modular. One piece breaks, you just pay to have it replaced. The dot project only Apple can do it.

iPhone XS - I also am having problems w this update. When I am greeted w the Face ID set up screen it looks like the camera is having issues focusing on a face and keep on trying to correct itself. When going to Snapchat or Instagram the front camera works fine

I've bought iPhone 11 (with iOS 14) with cracked screen - I've replaced it as many times before (I am technician) and....... FaceID is not working!!!!! I was fighting with it for FEW HOURS!!! Trying adjust cameras - flood illuminator - dot projector etc. NOTHING!!!!!!!!

I am 100% sure it was working.

............ and now I see........... THIS thread - hundreds people no FaceID - UNABLE to pay shopping with Apple Pay

It looks NOTHING hanged with Apple since iOS 13 and DOZENS updates till iOS 13 was........... usable :(
