I have a note on my phone that is very full, it had a lot of information. Let’s say you can scroll for a good 10 seconds from one end to the other. On iOS 13 there were 0 issues. On iOS 14 when I type, it is noticeably slower and laggier. When I type the keyboard letters pop up a second later and the letters on the notes show up a second later too. How do I fix this issue without downgrading?
Made it work by copying the laggy notes entirely and pasting them into a New Note. Navigation/editing is quick again.
Any reason why Apple isn't offering any explanation?

works fine on Catalina. updates fine, types fine; business as usual. the problem seems to be oriented on handheld devices. i'm losing my mind over it!
Same here, iPhone X iOS 14. The notes app becomes extremely laggy. Notes are not lengthy either.

Same problem on Ipad air 2, ios 14 broke the notes app, please fix it Apple! Oh, already did restart, erased all settings, erased the app and re-installed it, and I have 72 gigs of free space on the ipad so it’s definitely a bug, not experiencing the lag on my iphone 11 pro max though, could it be planned obsolescence? Me too! This is hugely frustrating. If any note is more than a few paragraphs long the app slows down to a crawl...I’m typing and words are lagging behind to the point that the notes app is nonfunctional. I’m using an iPhone X, I have tons of storage space and every other app runs smoothly. Apple, you need to fix this.
Hoping this helps. ... Hang on .. Sorry, changing these settings does nothing for me. I've had the same issue most notably on ipados - very, very, insane, idiotically, slow typing that does not keep up. [I learned to type ahead 'blind' cause of laggy connections over a 1200 baud modem, youngsters will have to google that - that how slow it is.] Now, typing here in this other app, notably, not Notes, (had to capitalize that myself, see? and there's no lag at all. So bugger all, Apple, this is new to the combination of iPadOS 14.1 and Notes. Haven't checked on MacOS Catalina - cause I can't be arsed.
I would not hold my breath for official anything from Apple. Not any more. But had this problem too, and When I updated to the next point release, I found that this problem had been resolved (Both iPad and iPhone). So maybe try updating? I know that rarely fixes anything but, it worked for me on this issue. One thing for sure. If the problem IS fixed in a subsequent release, Apple is NOT going to make a backwards path for an older release, no matter how much you ask/want. Unless it affects security or privacy, which it rarely does.
