iOS 14 ringer volume issues

Hi, I did the latest update to ios14. Since then my ringer volume keeps being turned down to minimal. I’m not turning it down, it seems to happen when the phone is locked. I cannot manually change the volume when in lock mode. Any ideas?

I got a new iPhone SE last week ... to begin , this will be the 3rd iPhone in less than a week I had to return to Apple, because is without a doubt the Biggest piece of 💩 only made to the user, so incredibly upset with it , that you’ll get a newer and Very Expensive new version on iPhone .. Not taking in consideration, we live in COVID-19 times and thousands of people (like myself) , got that terrible virus 🦠, are getting evicted (again like myself) , lost their job ,.. and yes , like me ... and had the unfortunate situation so dire; I had to move from Chelsea (NYC) where I lived for 30 years , to ... Phoenix. AZ ....I still debating myself who’s worst: Apple or Verizon ...

I went to the process of Activation of the new phone ; 3 times already .... And to keep with the aggravation alive, because this faulty new and improved iPhone SE is nothing but the worst product on the market ... (and btw, they advertise hoe cheap it is ... Only $399 , that will ended up costing a Way lot More , including your mental state

I started getting (Again) the notification of Contact the carrier , because the phone is not activated , every hour since 4:00 pm today . After my 4th visit to the Verizon store here in Phoenix , where they ASSURE ME... I won’t have any more problems with this .... at least on the Carrier side ..

So , I am , as you can read , beyond upset and keep wondering 💭 if been a client of Verizon and Apple for more than 20years ;(Both companies) is worth this abuse ????

Same problem on my wife's iPhone X since upgrading to iOS 14 (and 14.0.1). We factory reset the phone and the problem persisted. We then noticed that her volume went down when her eyes were directed at the screen. This is an intended feature of "Attention Aware" on FaceID. However, when we turned off Attention Aware, all of her sounds seem to work properly again. We are suspecting that Attention Aware is working when it is not supposed to. Might be turning down the volume every time she looks at the phone (even in other apps), thus effectively turning the volume off over time each day. Fingers crossed. Gonna keep Attention Aware turned off and see if the sounds work properly for a few days.

iPhone 8 plus 256GB, iOS 14.0.1, with cracked non-functioning home button. ( using passcode & AssistiveTouch)

Ringer & Alerts volume “Change with Buttons” toggle in off position.

My ringer goes to “0” randomly too, but for life of me can’t find what triggers it.

I’ve also noticed the App’s in my bottom home bar get reversed/mirrored,

this seems to occur at the same time my ringer issue happens. Very strange.

A fix for this would be greatly appreciated. I’m tired of missing calls.

I upgraded from an old 6s to a new 11pro and even bought the new Apple Watch 6 to track heart rate, etc. It was an extraordinary amount of money for me to spend but I needed a super reliable setup to assist with my new work from home schedules.

I have tried every solution mentioned in the forums to no avail. (Including the nuclear DFU method twice). But if this Alert/Ringer volume issue can’t be resolved soon then I will have to go back to the other OS. There is so much with the Apple ecosystem that is so well done but if my phone doesn’t ring or wake me up in the morning then my phone ceases to be viable option for me!

This all makes me so sad!! ☹️

Along with the Sound I’ve also noticed a slight issue with my Haptic Feedback!, not sure what the correct terminology is but the Haptic Feedback doesn’t seem as Haptic/intense, like sometimes a don’t even feel it!.

Took it to my local Genius Bar today and they ran there some what “Diagnostic Test” and all came back fine.

i absolutely love Apple products but think it’s time for a change.

Update on my 11Pro with the Ringer/Alert volume going to Zero issue.

I am a Field Service Engineer and programmer and do quite a bit of remote troubleshooting with clients. I know that the more information that I can get, the faster I can resolve issues.

So in that light, I decided to call Apple Support through my phone's setting page. I got ahold of a very professional and thorough Support Rep who actually connected remotely into my phone, ran some diagnostic software and then downloaded the logs. He got with some of the engineering team and said that they are working on the issue but the problem is that it affects a relatively small percentage of the phones. He thanked me for taking the time to give them some more data to help in their resolving this issue. He said that many people that have the issue have wondered if it is somehow related to BlueTooth connecting and disconnection. They are hoping to resolve this with a software update in the near future. Hopefully Very Near Future!
