iOS 14 text notification issues

The last senior advisor I spoke with started a trouble ticket, too screen shots of some of my issues, ran a diagnostic and sent info to engineers. They said I’d hear back in a few days. That was over a week ago and I’ve heard nothing. They never admitted to a known bug and acted like this was an isolated case.

I don’t think notifications are working for anyone that updated to iOS 14. You must be on a active phone call and not be connected to WiFi or WiFi calling for notifications to be silent. Mine don’t work with earbuds or airpods connected either. So many people are on phone calls nowadays with earbuds or airpods and have to no that their phone is on silent. I find it hard to believe apple isn’t being flooded with complaints!

Now THIS is something up with which I will not put! LOL I absolutely HATE MS!! I have never managed to solve a problem with their issues in any areas! Ugh!! I’m glad I’m not alone.

This is not a solution to me. This is a workaround of proportions and hoops that I’m not jumping through to make a simple notification work again. Appreciate you sharing but it not at all clear on how to set it up nor is it even something we should have ro remotely consider to get this resolved.

According to what the link shows that is how shortcuts work. It's like anything else you do, a couple of times & you can do it w/o thinking.

I know when I receive a text, email, calendar, reminder alerts so I'm all good now.

Do you already have shortcuts? I'm assuming you do if you have the icons w/custom covers.

I don't think it's a work around. If you read any of those 2 sections there is some pretty neat stuff. You do have to think how the action will work but getting the hang of it I think you will realize you can use the shortcuts in a lot of ways. If you already have a shortcut for a icon or widget then it's just 2 more steps for the notifications.

This seems like a very specific issue to why you’re not getting notifications. I feel this thread is focused on workarounds for those that are just simply not getting notifications in general, not as a result of changing our date/time in a game.

Ok so my issue is that while I’m on a call my phone doesn’t vibrate or ding with sound alerts. It’s like everything is muted. And it’s ******* me off. Is anyone else have these issues while on a phone call?

Having the same issue with no sound notifications when receiving messages on my Pro Max with 14.01. This is pretty basic stuff that $10 burner phones don't have issues with. You would think a $1200+ phone could handle this.

Same. I tried everything I could find to fix it and no luck. It is really annoying bc I need notifications from my parents or otherwise while I’m calling. I need to hear the noise to know it’s there. Otherwise I won’t realize and I will forget to respond

I just updated my iPhone 11 to the 14.0.1 this week and since then my phone no longer notifies me of text messages either. It’s made me miss important messages from work and has been a massive headache. I tried all “fixes” and nothing has helped. I hate this and thinking I should change away if there isn’t a fix, and I’ve been a loyal Apple user for ages now, but I can’t keep missing messages.

If anyone finds a fix, please share!!

I have rebooted. Turned off all notification and back on without resolution. I’m not getting notifications on a work or personal phone. I’m missing key client pandemic related work,

I hooked both to my MacBookPro and downloaded and installed 14.0.1. When uploading them directly didn’t work I tried the cable|Dongal|cable

i reverted back to 13 for brevity whilst this is sorted out.

In my case it would be;

iPhone locked/watch locked: notifications sound on the phone - no sound just banner notification on phone

iPhone locked/watch unlocked: notifications sound on the watch - no sound just banner notification on phone

iPhone unlocked/watch unlocked: notifications sound on phone - sound notification and banner on phone only

My Apple Watch and iPhone 11 pro max appear to work as they are supposed to except when I am on Bluetooth then neither device alerts me when I have a text. Also when my MacBook is open I do not get a text alert. I have tried so many different things that have been suggested that I am just hoping the next release fixes the problem and I hope they realize it is tied to Bluetooth in addition to what other problems there are.

same problem here. I get no notification from different apps (threema, 3cx and sometimes whatsapp.)

I have this problem since I have updated my iphone 8 to 14.0.1 and still exists now with 14.1.

I also have a apple watch, if this could be the "problem".

with the 14 update i am not receiving text notifications at all (ie: nobanner on lock screen, no ding in the earpiece, no notification on the bluetooth). This is a problem as i use this phone for business and MUST be able to get my notifications at all times. APPLE... PLEASE FIX ASAP .... THIS IS A HARD PASS ON THIS FEATURE FOR ME.
