iOS 14 text notification issues

I had this issue until I updated to 14.3!! Try restarting again maybe mine is working just fine now!!! But yes I was totally frustrated missing my texts too!! Even on the phone I didn’t get notifications!! I did have to set my banners tho so it would pop up and that worked till the newest update!! Everything is working great now except the repeat text notifications when I u lock my phone but better then no notifications! lol good luck!

I just bought the new iPhone 12 and I’m having the same issue as well. It’s absolutely ridiculous. I’m not getting any notification banners on my iphone screen when a text comes in, nor does my phone vibrate or make a sound when a text comes in. I’ve been missing incoming text messages from my contacts because I don’t even realize that a new text came in.

My 6s on iOS 14.3 paired with Apple Watch 1st gen gives no iMessage tones when locked. Watch gives notification ok. Tried all the fixes from web. Apple must be aware of this but I can’t find a comment from them. I submitted a feedback report also.

i think i have it. On the update 14.2, apple automatically turned all contacts to silent notification. now with 14.3 as long as i've turned the individual contact notifuication in each contact to' on', i get the notification. what a nice chruistmas present Apple gave me!(not)

Just so everyone is clear and we're all on the same page: when you're in the main chat window (has the list for all of your different text conversations), if you slide one of the contacts to the left, you'll have two options. One of the options is to delete the conversation (red background with with a garbage can icon) and you'll have a second option for Notifications (lavender background with bell ico).

The bell icon with a slash through it means that you WILL get notifications for that contact. The bell with NO slash means notifications for that contact is turned OFF. The slash/no-slash meanings seem counter-intuitive but it is what it is. Just wanting to make we're all on the same page.

I’m in the UK and my iPhone is the XS Max and I love it but still no joy with the notifications issue. I so hope Apple can do something about this and my IOS is 14.3. Hope u are all having a lovely Christmas x

Updated to 14.3 and after testing for a couple of days, it seems to be working again. Phone is getting notifications, vibrating, and screen is waking up to display notification of texts and iMessages.

I shut off the notifications on my Apple Watch in order to get text messages on my iPhone. That's fine with me, but it was annoying that my iPhone was not alerting me to messages when I had my watch on.

My wife got me an Apple Watch SE for Christmas and now the notifications are getting even worse. I will not get a vibrate on my phone when I have my watch on and at times I don’t get a vibrate on my watch either. Everything is set up properly.

anyone with any suggestions other than going to an android phone and watch?

Scrap this release and stop with the overbearing upgrade demands. Apologise for gross incompetence. Allow us to restore iOS 13. Lost texts. Locked IDs. Insane signin demands on your podcast app that has been terrible for years.

i feel terrible for your workers but even worse for the users you have lured to this nightmare.

Sorry to hear about your opinion. Have you contacted them before about all of these issues? If you are currently jailbroken on iOS 14 Doctor Who which you can still restore to, as long as you’ve got SH SH blogs saved for iOS 13, you will be able to downgrade to it on a computer. iOS 14.2 I mean.

I have an iphone 7 and I updated it to 14.3 but that still didn’t fix it. And it’s not the messages that are not showing up for me. It’s notifications from ANY app. Literally all my apps. I have to open each app just to see my text or calls there. It’s so frustrating and I tried everything.

If I were you, I'd stay on 13.5 for now. I'm running iPhone 12 Pro Max with 14.3, no iPad and no watch. Never have had either one. Notification alerts are sporadic. The bug got better with 14.3 but it's not completely fixed as I'll still notice that I won't be notified of a new text. It just doesn't happen as often as it did on the IOS 14 versions that are not 14.3 (ex:14.2.1).

I had my IPhone-X prior to my Pro Max and when I updated my IPhone-X device to IOS 14, the text notification alert was introduced. Again, I'd stay on IOS 13 for now.

• Those with Apple Watch. Do you get your notifications on the watch when the iphone is locked?

Nope. And when my watch is docked, I also don't receive notifications.

For me, it starts with the popup message not appearing (but the sound still worked). After a day or two, the sounds also stop, and also stop appearing on my watch (obviously, while wearing it; when I don't wear it, I get no Messages notifications).

my boyfriend and I are having the same issues. It’s only with each other’s texts. We get everyone else’s somehow. It’s really annoying. I hope Apple fixes this in its next update because I’m tired of restarting my phone to fix this issue.
