iOS 14 text notification issues

I have XS Max and have not received iMessage notifications while locked since installing iOS 14.1. Once I unlock the phone the notifications go crazy, that's not helpful nor appreciated. I'd really prefer to have the notifications as they occur while locked and not all at once when the phone is unlocked. Please Apple, fix this sooner than later.

I have been having this problem intermittently for months. I have called customer service, it's been escalated to a supervisor who personally speaks to me about it and always says, it's not the phone it's the software, they are aware of it and are trying to fix it. I have the latest software and with every new version I hope it will be fixed and it does not fix it. My son-in-law has a google phone that did a similar thing and when they replaced his phone it no longer did it. I have always had Apple iPhone but I am seriously thinking about something else on my next upgrade!! This is an unacceptable issue to have with a phone like this!!!

This can’t be a new “feature” this seems like a bug. Why on earth would they turn off notifications. If it is a “feature” they need to get rid of it. I have missed so many important texts it’s been ridiculous.

I still have the same problem. No notifications except for banners at the top of the screen.

my husband has an iPhone & doesn't have the problem. I thought I had it fixed by way of shortcuts (there is a notifications in that) but it worked temporarily. So I have to set aside the time to check phone msgs, texts, email, reminders. Ugh!!

This is a horrible update in my opinion. In this day and age where a lot of people are working from home and multitasking, I rely on my phone to both listen to conference calls as well as triage projects through text message at the same time. Without the audio notification feature during a call I frequently miss urgent text messages. This needs to be reverted back ASAP!

There seems to be a bunch of different ways to fix the problem described in the original post. I posted my solution twice. The bottom line is that this is a bug introduced in iOS 14.x and needs a permanent solution. Meanwhile people should try the multiple solutions that worked for others. Apple’s Quality Assurance (QA) is not what it should be. This includes regression testing features that worked before but were broken or impacted by new features introduced in the latest iOS.

I am having the same issue and also not receiving notifications for other email apps as well as social media. Thought it may be an app needs to be updated issue but that doesn’t seem to have worked either. I am missing critical emails that require immediate response.

I really don't understand why the notification feature was removed and also reinforces why I am always hesitant to do the updates. My phone is my work phone so if I'm on a call, it's extremely important that I am aware of either a text message or a google chat message. This is such a minor feature, but an important one for many people. Please fix this!!

Same problem, iPhone 8 just randomly stopped specific push notifications from some apps. I also have a couple of colleagues with the same problem (different model iPhones) iOS updates have made no difference nor has resetting devices.

The description of the fixes in 14.2 doesn’t even say anything about text notifications or Bluetooth. I am hesitant to install it if it doesn’t fix the problem. I don’t care about more emojis or wallpaper. I want notifications to work.

Ever since I got the iOS 14 update I haven’t been getting notifications from Snapchat. I have the setting on so I would normally get notifications. I’ve changed the notification settings from my phi e setting and from Snapchat settings and nothing is working.

I have been experiencing this problem since the latest update 14.2 and sometime I don’t get a sound or the banner if I am texting someone and they text back. I have tried putting my phone in DND and turned it off but it still doesn’t seem to work. If someone knows how to fix it let me know so I can see if it works

My iPhone 8 just updated to the latest iOS14 update and since then I have not been receiving notifications for the majority of my test messages. Today, I even missed a phone call from my dad and I never received a missed call notification. I only know that I missed a call because I received a voicemail alert.

how do I get my notifications back!

all my past text messages were deleted and I’m not getting notifications but it’s only the messages app I’m getting every other notification i have tried everything and did research but nothing is working HELP

iOS 14.2 updated iPhone 11 ProMax

I am not receiving some of my sound/vibrations/notifications for texts & news banners. This problem is extremely irritating.

Will there be another update/repair soon?
