iOS 14 text notification issues

mill uncheck the ones I want to be notified by. Problem is, sometimes a random person sends an important text... no notification. It sits there....until you find it accidentally. Hhmmmmm

My whatsapp video call do not have any notification ever since I updated to iOS 14.3. Is kinda frustrating because I am a new iPhone user and I am using the latest iPhone 12 Pro Max. Can please come out with a new update to fix this issue?

I’m having the exact same issue but I have the iPhone 12! It’s only started happening recently and i don’t understand why, I’ve turned my phone on and off and checked my notification settings but everything is working as normal

This is happening for me as well. I have the IPhone 12 Pro and the only time I get texts is when my phone is active and being used. But, when both my watch and phone are locked, I receive no notifications at all. So it’s really hard to tell when you have a text. You end up finding out when you check the time or login to your phone. Hopefully there is a fix around the corner.

I am having this issue as well on my 11 Pro. Very frustrating that it is happening very inconsistently with seemingly no pattern. Have to constantly check to make sure I am not missing any important text messages.

I think I’ve solved the problem I’ve turned off my scheduled do not disturb and now my messages are coming back through again.

Could be something to do with the two options silence when phone is locked or silence always

I have this issue as well. I’ve found that the notifications don’t happen if I have an individual text thread/conversation open. I will receive notifications for other threads, just not the thread I have open. It’s very frustrating as I’ve missed several important messages not realizing there had been a reply.

I had this start to happen to me very recently. No texts would have sounds or notifications. I just checked my notification settings for iMessage and somehow they got switched to “deliver quietly” where no sounds were set to play and the alerts for new messages were to only show up in the Notification Center (Not on the Lock Screen or as banners). I also noticed one of my conversations had been muted (once again, not by me) so I had to unmute that too.

Apple let’s go. I am endlessly missing professional and personal communications because I am receiving no notifications for text messages. This is clearly a wide spread issue. I am on IOS 14.2. Please fix this issue.

Many of us thought so too and even the 14.3 release notes mention it. The issue went away for a bit but eventually returned just not as often for many of us. Hopefully it worked for you in the longterm.

Same issue and growing increasingly frustrated as this is a very important week for me and I can’t be missing notifications at all. Everything in my new 12promax is set up exactly the same as my previous iPhone. Tune to fix your bug immediately apple.

I'm having this issue as well and has been ongoing for a few weeks. At first I thought it had something to do with my Apple Watch notifications but I have changed all that and still having this issue. I have tried several suggested fixes and nothing seems to work.

I think you will see your watch does have something to do with it. When I power my watch off I get the notification on my phone. To make sure I get my wife’s notifications on my watch with sound, I turned on emergency bypass for ringtones and texts in her contact info. I now get a chime on my watch even with silent mode. She is the only one I have set up like this so I don’t get a bunch of chimes on the golf course 😊

I have the same issue and unfortunately the Apple techs are helpless in doing anything about it. Most don't even know it's an issue. I just got a brand new iPhone 12 sent to me to replace the one that had the missing sound notification issue because the tech thought it might be a hardware issue. It's definitely a software issue and I wish I had those 2 hours back transferring data and setting up the new phone. More worrisome for me is I that depend on the audible notifications to alert me of a low blood sugar through my Dexcom app and now my health is at risk from not getting these alerts. Why isn't this getting more attention from the media and the Apple software engineers? Very disappointed in how Apple is handling this.

I’ve been having this problem as well and I went in and reset all settings and it worked. I had to change everything back to the way I had it afterwards but I’m getting my notifications now. Just thought this might help some people.
