iOS 14 text notification issues

Am not reciveing notifications or wattsapp message when am not using the app. Meaning my data is on am using Facebook for example but when someone message me from Instagram I don’t get the message automatically unless i start using the app

I’m having the same issue since updating to ios14.2 the other night. Getting no notification of text messages and only find out i have got one when clocking onto people to see if they have replied because of getting no notification (vibrate/ping/notification banner).

i am using an iphone 11. My apple watch is not notifying me either

Same issue here yet it’s across ALL notifications for any app, text message, etc! This is so annoying. Sometimes it works but 85% of the time I do not receive any notification unless I got into the physical app. This MUST BE FIXED. How many updates are going to be needed anymore!

After updating to ios 14, I cannot receive audible notifications while on a phone call. I use both wired and wireless headphones., so Bluetooth is both on and off when this occurs. When I'm not on phone call or facetime, the sound notifications work fine. I have to keep checking my phone constantly to make sure I see a notification. I know people who are visually impaired and they have no idea that they are receiving texts. I found this online, but it appears to be a bug in ios 14. Like you, I have done all of the above. I was assigned a Senior Advisor as well - went to the Apple Store "Genius" Bar, reset the phone, settings, etc.... Just tried turning off bluetooth - didn't work. My text notifications have never made a sound even before IOS 14, it's been going on since I bought the phone, the 11 Pro, almost a year now. The one correlation that I have found (and this is not always the case) is that when my phone and my computer are both on that is when it's most prominent. My Senior Advisor said it was a software issue. I have not tried resetting since IOS 14 - don't really want to go through that again. I have missed important business and personal messages - very very frustrating!!!

I don’t get iMessage notifications when I’m using my phone, I could be doing anything and I still won’t get them.

no sound, no vibration, nothing. Even when my phones just sitting there I get nothing. The only time I get them is when my AirPods are connected and Siri read them for me. I just bought my iPhone XS and updated to the latest iOS 14.2

Since updating my iPhone X to iOS 14 I’ve been missing notifications of text messages from my contacts. Some Unkown’s get through, but when my wife texts me asking about dinner, etc. and I don’t see it until I pick up my phone 30 mins to hours later, it ruins the planning phase for our evening, etc.

i think this started happening to me when i got the new apple watch 6 (gps only).

i since returned the watch until this issue is resolved.

there is no point in wearing a watch if the watch does not get notifications timely.

I've been having this same issue after the automatic update. It is so frustrating, I've been missing very important messages. I'm actually considering going to Android if this issue isn't fixed asap. I'm not understanding why this would be part of an update. Dumbest thing ever!!!

I am not getting sound notifications on text messages nor is the banner showing up on my locked screen. I have an iPhone 12 Pro and just downloaded the latest iOS 14.2. Have reset my phone twice now. Please advise. Thank you.

what is your theory on how this is solving the problem?

i mean, if you reset the network settings and reset to factory default and they both do not work.

why is the full reset via itunes doing the trick?

I am having the same issue. Except my texts will just show up as read. So I won't know that someone has responded to a text unless I go into my inbox and read the message. There is no alert on my watch, no banner on my phone, or badge on my message app. It's gotten to the point where I won't even notice someone has texted me back until the next day. I have an iphone XR

Same issue! Any update or fix would be greatly appreciated. Also, Before the update, when I turned caps lock on and highlighted a text it would automatically show me the “predictive texts” in caps as well. Now, it shows the predictive text in normal size font. Anything I may not have tried or not know about to fix this issue?

im having the same problem since upgrading to IOS 14.2 no notifications for imessage, locked unlocked on call not on call just not getting anything!!

tried changing the settings, turned my phone on and off.

i have to to go into the app it self and check the messages manually frustrating!!

any one know if this will be fixed?

I wish I could tell you I have but I haven’t, I shut Bluetooth off when my watch is on charge and it didn’t help I’ve not used WiFi in days and it still hasn’t helped.. I’m literally about to throw my iPhone in the trash and go back to an Android at this point
