Option for user to turn off notification of clipboard (one app pasted from another app)

Hi, Apple team, my new iPad Pro 2 has just updated to iOS 14, I found you added a new feature that displays “one app pasted from another app”, which is probably the new privacy transparency you are striving for, however this to me seems more annoying than being useful. I am a focused and productive person, when I am working or learning in front of my iPad I like to concentrate on what I am doing instead of frequently disturbed by this notification which has nothing to do with the stuffs I am working on. Can you please give the user an option to turn this clipboard notification off? Thanks.

I just got iOS 14 and this is driving me absolutely ducking insane. Seriously I will buy android next time if there is no way to turn this off. What the actual **** was Apple thinking? It serves zero purpose and is permanently in the way. Who asked for this nonsense? Like literally which users asked for this?

This is horrible nonsense Apple has introduced to drive users crazy. One more reason to switch to Android. There are many issues like this with iOS 14. If you just bought a new iPhone 12, you don’t have the option to downgrade to previous operating system that does not have this issue. Apple’s iOS still can’t do things that the Palm OS could do on their Treo phones in 2008. It’s so frustrating.

Yes this has nothing to do with Universal Clipboard, it's a "privacy" feature added by apple in iOS 14. Instead of doing something sensible like allowing you to turn on or off clipboard access for each app in settings, Apple have decided to add a useless notification to the top of the screen which permanently gets in your way, thus "solving" the issue of privacy.

I did not see anything so useless, irritating and sloppy since the great invention of the cookie notice present in 100% of the web pages of the planet. Does anyone click on "read more?" or stop visiting a website because it stores cookies? The person who introduces these functions has never surfed the web or used an iPhone for more than 10 minutes. Using iOS is now ****, please get that notice out of there ASAP!!

The cookies notice is required by law to inform people that they are being tracked. Even if we know it, the law requires we be informed before using any websites so that we cannot come back later & say “I didn’t know.” And I often click the “more” link to opt out of my personal info being shared.

This issue w Apple & the clipboard notification has absolutely nothing to do w the cookies notification. There is no law (that I’m aware of) that requires the makers of a phone to inform the owner of the phone of copying & pasting content that the owner themselves has done.

This clipboard notification is unnecessary, useless, distracting & annoying.

I already know that the cookie message is a legal requirement but it could be simply one more option in the menu of the website, such as other legal requirements (data policy, e-commerce returns policy, show tax data, etc.) this would save trillions of clicks every second in the world.

I don't know if Apple's "copied from" notifications are a legal requirement, but just like cookies I'm sure there are less irritating and bothersome ways to solve it.

But adding the cookies Y/N option within the menu would not meet the legal requirements of getting permission *before* the visitor uses the website. The permission must be granted beforehand. That’s how the law is written, so it’s not going to change unless the law is rewritten.

However, this popup notice issue isn’t necessary because the user is doing the copying/pasting, so well aware of what’s occurring. For that sole reason, we should be allowed to turn it off. And for the life of me (as others have said), I cannot figure out why Apple felt it was a good idea or even necessary to inform their user of a process they themselves are doing. It’s redundant, to say the least. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I just sent this message to Apple Feedback:

In iOS 14, there is an annoying new feature: A message telling me which app I copied and pasted from. This is annoying, distracting and not useful.

I’m the one who copied the text, so I already know where it came from. Aargh! Imagine every time you walked from the bedroom to the kitchen, there was a message telling you that you walked from the bedroom.

Please eliminate these irritating messages ... or at least give users an option in Settings to turn this clipboard notification off.

Thanks.

My niece recently got YouTube Music, and she said it has an excellent selection . . . she was even able to find special remixes of songs for the Zumba classes she teaches. On her advice, I did the free trial today. In less than an hour, I deleted YouTube Music from my iPhone.

What a piece of garbage software. Can't alphabetize songs in a playlist? Are you kidding me? This is a BASIC FUNCTION. Heck, Spotify lets me list the songs alphabetically OR in the order they were added, and it's simple to switch back and forth. There is an option to alphabetize playlists, but not to alphabetize the songs WITHIN the playlists? Absurd.

Also--and this is very annoying--pressing on the iPhone widget takes you DIRECTLY into previously played songs and starts playing automatically. That option would be okay if the widget also gave you the option to simply OPEN YouTube Music to the home page, without music automatically blaring in your face. The Spotify widget allows you to do either. That’s how you treat the customers who pay for your service: you give them choice and convenience. Imagine.

The only reason I considered YouTube music in the first place was the live, remix, and cover versions it offers. But who cares about the songs offered when I’m too annoyed by the app to even listen to them? I’ll stay with Spotify.

YouTube Music is a mess. It's frustrating and poorly designed. It is NOT user-friendly in the slightest. It’s a slap in the face to the customers who actually pay for your service and allow you to exist. Sort out your crap if you actually WANT customers. I’m glad I got this junk off my phone. Good riddance!
