Delayed notifications

I'm on IOS 14, and this also happened when I was on 13. The notifications on my phone are not working and are delayed by sometimes as much as 5 minutes. If someone calls me on FaceTime, it rings for them but my screen doesn't even turn on. Messages sent to me are delayed, on imessages and WhatsApp as well.

Do not disturb is off

Notifications are turned on, all settings.

Bedtime is off

Reset networks settings

Reset my phone once but restored from a cloud backup

Reset all settings

Any help will be extremely appreciated.

Guys i found a fix to this problem.

I’m using iPhone 8 Plus on 14.4.1, i just did a reset all settings. After that reset, the notification works as it should. And then i changed the keyboard settings in my phone then the problem comes back. After minutes of trying to find the culprit, i think it’s the character preview.

  1. Go to settings
  2. General
  3. Keyboard
  4. Turn character preview to on

This fix it for me, please report back if your problem fixed too!

There is no reason to screw with the phone or settings. and it's not the carrier. It's clearly Apple not admitting they have a software issue and won't admit and fix it. I think my Apple computers, the station computers, our iwatches are all going to be sold and we are going to switch to something else. I am also going to recommend to the city I work for that we get rid of all the Apple products in our next meeting. This city is up for a new contract and this would be a great time to get rid of Apple.

Yeah same here, I also think it’s part of their battery optimization. Part of the reason why notifications in iOS 15 gets an update. By implementing the summary notifications feature, they don’t have to delay the notifications. I really hope this is the case and yeah I agree with you on shortening the battery life instead of delaying the notifications.

Relax Ca_Poppy1 Relax....If it bothers you then don't come to the forum. Until you and one other came n the board we were comparing notes such as iWatch, certain apps, our experience with Apple and the stores, etc. Second, we are posting and filling out the service form as well in hope Apple will take this serious. Again, no need for you to participate if you think this is only complaining.

People here are just sharing experiences and frustrations. It is a forum of sorts after all. Don’t worry about space being used up, cause when an actual solution does come up, I’m pretty sure it’ll eliminate the need to post any more experiences of the same case. People here are just keeping this thread alive hoping it gets noticed(if it hasn’t been already) and let the moderators know this problem is still present. Otherwise it won’t be solved.

I hear you and actually agree that type of post can be valid. There are constant reminders to focus on technical support issues. This most certainly qualifies as that but so many of these posts in relation to the issue are about people’s frustrations not workarounds or solutions. Which is it? But then here I am. Lots type no solution or workaround offered by this User either. So, off for the night ( unless of course I have a technical issue). :)

That’s my rant.

By “blocked” I take it that you mean not in use for a while? It happens WHILE I’m using the phone, so I don’t think so.

I literally get missed notifications from messenger, gmail and teams while scrolling through facebook.

Besides why would the phone automatically use mobile data when that uses more battery than connecting through wifi?

Jun 24, 2021 11:26 PM in response to ChrisFor45

Yes but the phone does have a setting to turn on and off the background app refresh of each app. I’m not saying it’s true, but what if apple is forcing these apps to not connect and retrieve data to save battery? I mean years ago there was this news that they intentionally slowed down the phones to make the battery last as long, this wouldn’t really be that different. It’s not a feature, but it’s not really a bug either IF they’re intentionally doing it

Sure Poppy, I'll just pop up with a fix. You must have a lot of time on your hands trolling this thread. I have been very active in the beginning of explaining and discussing the issues long before everyone has noted the same issues. I also discussed my higher tier comments from Apple, my comments with a tech, twice, at an apple store as well as friends who have the same issue trying to find something in common. I have been very active in trying to figure this out. You on the other hand has obvious been trolling the threads and jumped in this one with you useless comments. So yes, relax and stay out of other's business unless you have something constructive to offer. Go to another forum and look for your green lights.
