Delayed notifications

I'm on IOS 14, and this also happened when I was on 13. The notifications on my phone are not working and are delayed by sometimes as much as 5 minutes. If someone calls me on FaceTime, it rings for them but my screen doesn't even turn on. Messages sent to me are delayed, on imessages and WhatsApp as well.

Do not disturb is off

Notifications are turned on, all settings.

Bedtime is off

Reset networks settings

Reset my phone once but restored from a cloud backup

Reset all settings

Any help will be extremely appreciated.

Howdy WillianKazuo,

It sounds like notifications aren't working as expected. We know how important it is to be able to rely on notifications. You’re in the right place to find a resolution.

It sounds like you've done some great troubleshooting. You mentioned that notifications are turned on. Do you notice any changes if you adjust the notification style for any of the apps?

Take care!

Exactly what you say happens to me, but I have been with this error for 4 months, I have done many tests, one of them for example, had the iPhone (12 Pro) unlocked, I asked someone to write to me on WhatsApp and iMessage and I did not receive the notifications. In the Control Center turned off the cellular data, I immediately received the pending notifications. Then I did the same test, only this time I had the cellular data turned off, I only had Wi-Fi activated, I asked someone to write to me on WhatsApp and iMessage and received the notifications immediately.

It seems that the error is related to cellular data. It is different to have only Wifi, than Wifi + Mobile data.

If you could do this test and comment on the results. Thanks.

Sure Poppy, I'll just pop up with a fix. You must have a lot of time on your hands trolling this thread. I have been very active in the beginning of explaining and discussing the issues long before everyone has noted the same issues. I also discussed my higher tier comments from Apple, my comments with a tech, twice, at an apple store as well as friends who have the same issue trying to find something in common. I have been very active in trying to figure this out. You on the other hand has obvious been trolling the threads and jumped in this one with you useless comments. So yes, relax and stay out of other's business unless you have something constructive to offer. Go to another forum and look for your green lights.

I have just tried completely turning off mobile data and just using wifi. Some notifications still come late. Even when I’m using the phone(meaning the wifi is definitely working properly)

I am glad that this fix worked for you if it still is. But I think we should not offer this as a solution ‘cause then it would be easy for the devs to say “there we go they found a fix” and not bother trying to figure out what’s actually wrong

I am facing the same problem. I already updated my iPhone 12 to the latest OS but still having problems receiving real time notification especially with my LINE app. I am also having a hard time with whatsapp but not as bad as my LINE app. I have tried most of the things I found in this discussion but I can’t seem to get it right. The one thing I have no problem at all is receiving calls by cellular data. Is using a third-party app to clean my phone’s working? I’m afraid it will only make my phone’s condition worse.

I have the same problem. When I open my phone, I’m hot with every notification that was delayed. I bought a new phone and before I reinstalled all my apps, notifications for text messages were timely, no delay at all. Once I reinstalled my apps, the problem started again. I’m thinking some app causes the problem but I don’t know which one.
