After updating my XR to iOS 14 the phone call volume is really low also with in-call volume set to max. Is anybody else having this issue?
Does anybody know, how to solve it without factory reset?

Have you tried taking a new toothbrush and some baby wipes and cleaning the ear speaker? My son was playing with my wife’s phone the other day with dirty hands as usual and she just updated her phone so I thought it was the update, and maybe to some degree it was making the speaker more sensitive to blockage than before the update, but I spent an hour or two researching and found a video that suggested cleaning the speaker. I did so, with a lot of debris caked in there from the last 6months of her giving the phone to our son and, presto! Phone is fixed. If you have kids or grandkids and they get their hands on your phone, could be due to that.
Can i ask did you reslove the problem i am having the same issue iphone 7 reallg annoying
I havent been able to find a resolution. Multiple attempts with carrier(at&t) and apple. Going on two months of trouble shooting and still have to use speaker or airpods while on call.

Very frustrating that you can’t hear calls from the earpiece on a mobile phone. It’s definitely a firmware issue my older phones on older iOS versions don’t have this problem

Yeah, I tried resetting all the settings but meet the faith and no luck.
Apple developers need to seriously look at what changes in ios14 upgrade that’s affecting all updated phone including like.. this is terrible customer experience with no one looking..
Same issue here my iphone 12 volume is really low can barely hear while in a call so disappointed $1000+ phone can’t perform the most important feature of a phone 😒
Whats more sad its apple wont do anything about it but look the other way and offer 🐂💩 advice
Same with my Iphone 11 pro max. I noticed also the sudden lack of stereo sound when watching supported content.
Planned obsolescence is a pain the b*tt...
esp having just off this $1500+ device !

I am having this problem with my iphone 8 as well. My husband's iphone 7 still works fine as he did not do the update. I have tried everything that has been mentioned. My music plays just fine. It seems to be only the phone.
