After updating my XR to iOS 14 the phone call volume is really low also with in-call volume set to max. Is anybody else having this issue?
Does anybody know, how to solve it without factory reset?

Have you tried taking a new toothbrush and some baby wipes and cleaning the ear speaker? My son was playing with my wife’s phone the other day with dirty hands as usual and she just updated her phone so I thought it was the update, and maybe to some degree it was making the speaker more sensitive to blockage than before the update, but I spent an hour or two researching and found a video that suggested cleaning the speaker. I did so, with a lot of debris caked in there from the last 6months of her giving the phone to our son and, presto! Phone is fixed. If you have kids or grandkids and they get their hands on your phone, could be due to that.
I am having the same problem on an iPhone 12 Max Pro, so it's not just older phones. Really frustrating.
It doesn’t happen on my 5 so the problem came with later versions. You would think they would address this by now. As much as I like me apple phone, I wish I had gotten a pixel 5
