iMessage Typing Lag

Is anyone currently experiencing lag when typing within iMessage? It seems to happen every time I start typing a new message. Only occurs with the first ~3 letters and, once the lag catches up and those letters are typed, it returns to normal. I’m not sure if this is specific to me or possibly something associated with the new iOS 14 update.

I spoke to an apple tech today. I explained to him about the issue with my Iphone 8 and the typing lag is still there on my Iphone 12. He told me it is a bug that transferred over when I transferred over my data from one phone to the next.

The FIX is to upload photos/contacts/messages to Icloud, do a factory reset, setup as a new phone and then download photos/contacts from iCloud, re download apps. Unfortunately that is the only solution they have found that works. Hope this helps!

I agree. paid alot for these phones to have some dumb crap like this suddenly outdate my phone, then to be patronized by a corporate employee whos sole job is to publish lies to betray even further telling us essentially we are crazy, its all in our heads, no? anyone else agree? who here despises fake reviews and coverups? funny how the cycle continues after about a year when your brand new phone stsrts acting up all the sudden right after the warrantee expires. time bomb programming called updates?

This post is blowing up, but people need to calm down with the corporate conspiracy BS, it's a glitch, error, fault. We should keep commenting so they fix it, but we all know its not intentional since it is on a range of devices (new and old) and iMessage is a core part of their sales strategy and often the reason we got the phones. calm down people, take off the tinfoil hats.

I like my tinfoil hat, its shiny! and helps keep the 1,2,3,4 G microwaves signals partially out, but even then, i think faraday cages are having trouble with 5G too.. need something better than tinfoil now. lol

something is only a conspiracy theory if its not true, otherwise its is a conspiracy.

to think a greedy corporation wouldnt sabatoge thier own customers devices is just wishful thinking, even nearly new ones, pretty sure apple knows about this issue and isnt doing a thing cept planning the next "update".. cant wait.. :(

i worked in automotive industry, why do people only assume automechanics are dirty? and i dont mean thier greesy hands !! lol

Iphone 12 is first with 5G in apple line, along with a new M1 chip and lidar? wow! talk about the devious misuse potential with the in the dark imaging capabilitiez of lidar, why do avg consumers need this?

does the 12 have this lag issue?

Having the same issue with every conversation I reply to on my messaging app!

Really frustrating as I have to wait for the lag to catch up every time I type a new message. I have an iPhone XS with the latest software installed as of today's date (9th December 2020) so all up to date. No excuses!

Starting to do my head in now. Please fix this issue ASAP!

Cheers, Harry

Has anyone figured it out? My iPhone 11 isn’t even a year old - the whole “your phone is old bla bla bla” argument won’t fly. iMessage is also the ONLY app the lag happens on. If it weren’t for COVID I would have already gone to the Genius Bar to force them to fix it in person. Any suggestions that will actually fix the problem would be very appreciated.
