Geotag on photos not working since iOS 14 upgrade.

Ever since I upgraded to iOS 14, my iPhone does not show the geotag location at the top of each picture. Only the date and time it was taken. My camera settings are correct and my location settings are accurate, but it won’t show the location on the photos. The photos I have that were taken before installing iOS 14 show the location and geotag still. But any picture taken since the upgrade does not show the location.

I talked with Apple Support and this issue is now fixed on my IPhone 11 Pro, OS 14.01

You have to go into Privacy again, and then toggle the Location off and then back on. Then the camera icon will now appear under Privacy, so then click on Camera, then select allow location while using device. That fixed it. Before the Camera icon wasn't appearing under Privacy. So, toggling location off and then on again somehow reset it.

I can feel your frustration bro! It's so sickening. I have had to send my phone back to the store to claim warranty because mine started doing it way back when I updated to 13.3.1, I updated to 14 hoping for a solution but it only got worse.

It's so funny how nobody noticed this in beta. All those youtubers scrutinising everything but missed this. Actually, up to now, there isn't a single blogger talking about this issue, and I am afraid Until they do, Apple won't do anything about it.

I found a guy with 14.2 beta I explained him the problem and asked to test on beta..he sent me couple of photos and everything was fine, but he told me that he tried to edit every photo to show location, if he just take a photo only time and date are shown, but not the place. I'm really confused. I tried this on my phone (14.1) and still didn't work..

It is out and it did not fix the problem.

I wonder if anyone from Apple even reads these boards. Apple makes such a big deal out of photography on iOS yet this significant issue with GPS is ignored. Very frustrating. Here you have a trillion dollar company - they release new software for their flagship product, iPhone, and it's faulty. And many people reach out about it and it is not dealt with.

I am also having the same issue. Apple has really messed up the photos app by including the irrelevant features. A simple photos app with Geotag information was much nicer. Infact in iOS 13 It was simpler and relevant. They launch the new model with cutting edge camera features and expect people to pay premium when they are not able to handle a basic feature.

Like many have said, this particular feature is really useful. Why the apple tech's thought this was good idea is beyond me, as it's exactly the opposite!!

Perhaps we should all send a tweet to apple every day demanding that the algorithm be reinstated, although I suspect they wouldn't take alot of notice.

The chap I spoke to @ apple in Ireland on Thursday confirmed that they had received literally hundreds of unhappy user enquiries, so we can but hope that apple take some notice & reverse this....

Wonderfull news, i love seeing location on top of the photo and below the date on all pictures taken, can’t wait to update :)the issue for me is like this: I could see the location for photos taken before iOS 14. I thought a full reset + cloud restore would help, but I was wrong. the geotag location disappeared from photos taken before iOS 14 as well. It now only shows the location for photos taken home before and after iOS 14

I'm in the UK and ran 14.1 on Friday 23rd Oct - that's when my issue happened and when I spoke to apple in Ireland.

Taking pictures @ home are fine and are geo-tagged 'home' as this is my registered significant location. I've taken photo's elsewhere on Sat 24th Oct as a test and it simply stated 'today' above the time stamp.

All my photo's taken in different locations before 14.1 still have the location name in the photo title bar.

I suspect future ios release dates may vary by country, but hopefully we'll have a solution soon.
