Ever since I upgraded to iOS 14, my iPhone does not show the geotag location at the top of each picture. Only the date and time it was taken. My camera settings are correct and my location settings are accurate, but it won’t show the location on the photos. The photos I have that were taken before installing iOS 14 show the location and geotag still. But any picture taken since the upgrade does not show the location.
I talked with Apple Support and this issue is now fixed on my IPhone 11 Pro, OS 14.01
You have to go into Privacy again, and then toggle the Location off and then back on. Then the camera icon will now appear under Privacy, so then click on Camera, then select allow location while using device. That fixed it. Before the Camera icon wasn't appearing under Privacy. So, toggling location off and then on again somehow reset it.
If iOS 14.2 cures this issue....happy days.
However, if it doesn't then we should inundate apple via all social media platforms with a virtual protest :) until it's sorted.

Still these conflicting answers from Apple... today I sent a question to Apple Support on Twitter. First they gave me the standard rely about swiping down the photo to see where it was taken. After that, see screenshot
I have already contacted Apple through Support and have had 2 phone conversations with them and the last guy I was talking to today seemed interested in what I had to say. He promised to sent the case to the engineers and as many people have the same complaint he said they will decide on action but where there are multiple complaints it is usually upgraded to a more serious level and a patch or a fix is applied in a future update ..We will wait and see
I am really unhappy that since I updated my iPhone to iOS 14.1, the location meta data no longer shows on my new photos although I can see that the meta data has been captured. It is ruining my enjoyment of my photos. How can this be rectified please?

If enough users are feeding back this issue often enough....the techs may, just may actually produce a bug fix to resolve this. I would like to meet the people who (a) thought removing this feature was a good idea....and (b) gave approval to remove it.....and give them a hard slap!! :) :)

Yup I’m in London and it seems fixed although some tags are a bit off. Photos taken in Sennen and Lands End in Cornwall are tagged as Penzance and the ones in Penzance are tagged as Great Britain. Photos taken in Luton and in London (including at home) tagged as Great Britain! Is anyone getting this generalisation too? It’s not all or even most but quite a fair few.

All of the missing locations have returned, although I do have a handful of photos that are showing locations a few miles from the actual location, but nothing too drastic.
Well done to the community for highlighting this to apple....perhaps they'll ensure this great feature now remains permanent & 'locked' in.
Yeey! Here in Uganda, East Africa and the geotag works perfect with the Update! The noise worked, I still wonder why Apple didn't list it among the bugs fixed in the update. It's shocking how they think it's not important.
I will however wait a few weeks before updating on my main iPhone, can't take chances. 😁
Hey and worked fine on my phone after 14.2 update and all previously taken photos were geotagged perfectly but less than 24 hrs later and it’s back the way it was before and only showing date and time.Same old problem once more.
Here in Russia (St. Petersburg region) 14.2 starts to show names of the cities (even very small ones) as it use to be before iOS 14.
At the same time I can see my picture of August 2019 and it shows "Montenegro", but not “Hergec Novi".
Guys, does anyone tried to take a recent photo and check? For me, yes I got the location for the previous photos that I’ve taken but so far all the recent photos that I take by iOS 14.2 does not even record the location at the metadata!!! Which is really not good at all. Anyone have the same issue please?
I’ve tried closing app and restarting multiple times and not working for me. All photos taken from about 6 hours ago onwards have no geotag. I’m so annoyed. I was so excited last night when the geotags came back and now I feel so deflated again!!
Geotag only worked right after ios 14.2 was updated.
Geotag has not been working all day since the first picture I took with geotag after the 14.2 ios update.
Apple techical support, please release ios 14.2.1 to bring the geotag back to photos taken asap!

Indeed this feature is ill-featured. And I'm glad (but not happy) to see I am not the only one, or am doing or not doing something incredibly obvious.
I did let Apple know of this and told them, had I known, I would stayed back in the primitive forests iOS 13.
