Accountsd Mac cpu is high

it would be good to know that apple is indeed working on this problem, but so far nothing indicates it.

Can you show messages that is under observation by Apple for 5 years?

No issues since trying what I previously posted. All the Macs in my house have been fine since then.

Me too. The problem has disappeared. Magic.

Can I ask, what checkboxes you had turned on and which you had off? I tried onyx, but it didn’t solve my problem.

I guess it was serverside and had something to do with safety. It's turned off now i guess

I have the exact same problem on my MacBook Air since the upgrade.

I called the Apple Care this afternoon. We tried some « stuff » that didn’t worked.

They advised me to reinstall Catalina..

Just updated my MacBook Pro 2018 to 10.15.7 and - voila! Killing the process doesn't helping me - it's appearing again and again. I logged out myself off the Apple ID, and now this is the only way I found to stop this madness - at least I can use my laptop for a work again. I have heard that this situation might happen if you have any MS Exchange email set up and losing your internet connection, but I have no configured mail accounts at all and my internet connection is stable.

I had the same issue on my mac mini , Catalina 10.15.6. Solved it by :

• Open Activity Monitor
• Under Activity Monitor, run system diagnostics
• I also ran Spotlight diagnostics

After that, accountsd was back to about 56%.

Same problem for me on Mac mini 2018 with Catalina 10.15.7. After this update ... process accountst stay on 500% CPU and the fan do not stop to stay hight. I'll contact Apple support ... absolutely a bug.
