My iPhone cannot connect with the WiFi since the update IOS 14.1.. What can I do?

iPhone 11, iOS 14
Tried Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
and removed the wifi network on the phone.
Same problem when I try to connect to the hotspot on my Ipad.
WIfi on the ipad Pro with ios 14.0.1 is working fine.
Steve,
I am tired of everyone telling us to delete the VPN. I was never on a VPN. So now I have a $500.00 iPad that when turned on kills my phone WiFi, in addition, renders my iPhone ( Siri), and maps totally useless. My iPhone is still on 13, and from what I read 14.2 is not an improvement.
Apple is losing integrity, and gaining customers by the millions. I am at a loss how they keep getting bigger with terrible customer service.
I’ve narrowed down my particular WiFi issues to my phone switching from WiFi to Data. Often. As in a lot. However this issue didn’t start until the morning of my update. It appears some kind of signal changed. Maybe even my WiFi router capability with the update. The update definitely changed my ability to send/receive/connect using WiFi.
I checked for a newer update, there’s one waiting for me to update. 14.2, We shall see how this goes.
Why are users finding fault with a router???
The problem is Apple software!!!
Will Apple consider adapting the routers to the iPhone, iMac, and MacBook???
Why do thousands of users have to suffer, especially with the demonstrative lack of CSR’s with the lack of knowledge or understanding of what Apple customers are going through?
As an update for my specific scenario, I did change the security option on my router to WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES] and now connectivity to the internet seems stable. My theory may hold some water but curious what others are seeing.
Mine was strictly related to VPN that was installed via COX internet as part of their security services. I simply deleted the VPN on my phone and it was fine. It seems that it is conflicting when trying to connect through vpn . Interestingly though my wife’s phone and both ipads never had an issue.
I’m adding on to previous post because the end isn’t correct. I said my other devises never had issues which is true but the also didn’t have the Cox security suite on the either. Convinced it’s VPN related
Since update to 14.1 iPad have Intermittent WiFi at home, either will say it’s “unsecured connection or internet keeps dropping, works for few minutes and then no internet connections. Samsung tablet and phone, TV, laptop no problem, just iPad and iPhone. Tried all the recommended fixes, nothing works, obviously Apple update is the culprit, need to be fix asap
I have an iphone 8 plus unlocked 4gb
Pleeeease Apple sort it out as after an update WIFI just stopped working :-( please send another update ASAP as I have run out of 4G data :-( I have spoken with support and they sent me to the Apple Genius bar to be told that it "might" be fixed if I factory reset it...........but sadly not :-(
I have tried all the ideas from this thread and still.......................NOTHING!
TRIED REBOOT, RESET, ERASING ALL CONTENTS, NETWORK RESET ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING BUT SADLY .................NOTHING :-(
HELP!!!!!!
Hi. I have tried all the above. And sadly nothing worked. The WiFi is greyed out and I am unable to click the “i “ next to any network as none are showing :-( hopefully apple will update to fix this “glitch” as hardware has not been damaged and everything else works as it should ie. Bluetooth and texts signal and talk signal.
We have three iPhones - Xs, Xr and 11. We have never had any issues with WiFi until we installed iOS 14. All three iPhones are experiencing the exact same issue. We have not experienced any issues with the other devices in our home, including iMac, 2 MacBook Pros, 2 iPads running iOS 13, LGTV, etc.
I have talked to Apple Support three times and followed every step they recommended including including the three things you mentioned. I've reset my router. I even reset my iPhone to factory settings and restored. Apple ran diagnostics on my iPhone and found nothing wrong with the hardware.
The fact is there are thousands of posts about this issue.
Thank you for the info Lawrence and thanks for letting us know we are not alone Steve xx And hopefully Apple will sort out another update to sort the “bugs” as I not given up hope yet. Apple will not admit that they are at fault but hopefully will promptly issue an update. Please keep us posted how you get on. Thank you for everyone who has commented and tried to help and hope correction update is released promptly. R x
Lawrence, So you are saying that all three of our iPhones, which are different models, purchased at different times have a hardware problem? We have an Xs, Xr and an 11 in our family.
I have tried every one of the suggestions that you listed. I have been on the phone and chatting with Apple Support three times. I have rebooted our routers and iPhones. Reset Network settings, turned off Private Network. We do not use any VPN. I even reset my Xs to factory settings.
Even if you don't use a VPN check your settings and look for a VPN, if you have one uninstall it. Even of you dont use it you have to uninstall it completely. For some reason there is something in 14 that has a conflict with the native VPN. Good luck!
Does the problem happen with all Wi-Fi networks, or only your home network? If it is only your home network the problem is pretty obviously with your router, as it is affecting unrelated devices.
Also, have you updated to iOS 14.2, which fixes a known Wi-Fi problem with 14.0.1?
If the Wi-Fi toggle is greyed out that means that the radio chip has failed. Your phone came with a 1 year warranty, which you had the option to extend to 2 years when you got the phone. There is no warranty after these expire.
