Tried Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings

and removed the wifi network on the phone.

Same problem when I try to connect to the hotspot on my Ipad.

WIfi on the ipad Pro with ios 14.0.1 is working fine.

Same...

I’m having the most trouble I’ve ever had with connections since the 14 update. But since 14.1 it’s even worse. Sending imessages takes a very long time. Add a picture or video, it’s even longer. I’ve reset my routers, reset settings and restarted my phone and still problems. It also happens when I’m at someone else’s house on a different router. Which we did a reset on as well. I decided to google the issue and I see a lot of others are having the same problems. Hopefully this will be fixed soon. I’ve never had so many issues.

Please ensure you do not use a third party VPN application. Your issue would even occur on wifi at the iPhone’s God’s house (Apple Store).

i had this issue for weeks and all they dod was remove nordVPN (not just try to shut it off, DELETE it). After 3 weeks of this nightmare (includind full reset, nothing worked), just removing that VPN instantly gave me back perfect behaviour. As you say: your phone behave bad even on other peoples wifi.

Nope, no VPNs.

I have just tried KPMullens “hack” so we will see.

The connection issues are (hopefully now were ) sporadic. Usually if I have this issue it’s an outage with the carrier. Kind of like driving around and losing data connection because of coverage. However, in this case it’s during WiFi usage in my home as well as my sisters home.

fingers crossed and hoping resetting the network helps.

Thanks for the input.

Well, any software that is more than one line of code has bugs. And even one line can have bugs; I have a 3 line C program that I wrote 30 years ago and that I use constantly, and it has several bugs that I mostly ignore. iOS is millions of lines, and probably has thousands of bugs, most of which you will never notice. But I haven’t seen any consistent bugs with Wi-Fi in iOS 14.

Well, the Software Version on my iPad pro reads "14.1 (18A8395)", so are we talking the same version? Whatever, once the software updated, the iPad will not connect to the internet through my wifi router. Worked fine before the "update", but not currently. Have been following the community conversation on this and tried most everything suggested except a full router update, which seems complicated. Our 2 iPhones initially choked a bit on the update but seem to be working fine now, and our PCs are able to access the internet through this same router. However, the network reset gets one page up, but on the second tab, ipad will not connect to internet. Just spent 15 minutes on the phone with apple support. Followed all instructions, but still same result..... one successful connection, then nothing. Very frustrating....

I had tried to shut off VPN previously by using the slide tab in Settings, but it kept reconnecting. However, on your advice, I did a deeper dive and found the VPN source in the third party antivirus app. Deleted the VPN and now the iPad connects and runs perfectly. Without your suggestion, it would have taken much longer to run down the remedy, so “Thanks” for that. The only concern now is that a VPN is considered as an extra layer of security, but one that is apparently untenable when running 14.0.1.

VPN is NOT an extra security layer, and, in fact, using it is a security risk because the VPN provider sees everything that you do and can easily sell that information. See—>Don't use VPN services. · GitHub

The only legitimate use of VPN is to connect to an internal corporate or school network from outside the network.

Still, it should work. If it doesn’t you need to contact the VPN service provider and ask why they haven’t kept their product compatible with current iOS versions.

If you actually understand what I posted, while I didn’t say so explicitly, since you said you updated to iOS 14.1 and still had the problem I DID comment on 14.1.

So to be absolutely explicit about how you should have read my post:

iOS 14.1 DID resolve a Wi-Fi problem. Which means that your problem is not the same as the 14.0.1 problem that others had. You have an unrelated problem. There can be more than one cause for Wi-Fi problems; more like dozens.

Exact same issue. Three iPhones in the house on iOS 14.1. The problem started when we updated to 14. I’ve rebooted phones and routers. I’ve reset network settings. I’ve been on the phone three times with Apple Support. They provided No help at all. They’re last recommendation was to reset the phone to factory settings. That was a waste of several hours. Problem still exists. The entire family is upset.

Every other device in our home works perfectly, including iMac, 2 MacBook Pros, Windows 10 laptop, LG tv, Nest, Ring, Alexa.
