After the update Catalina 10.15.7 have problems with the Internet connection

Hello!

After yesterday's MAC OS Catalina 10.15.7 update, today I had a problem with the WiFI connection.

The connection is excellent, the icon shows that everything is fine, but the Internet periodically disappears. Yesterday, after the update, I did not notice any problems. Today it started, it's impossible to work, after turning off and turning on WiFi, the Internet works for 5-10 minutes and then problems again.

There were no such problems before the update.

I have an Airport Express router (firmware 7.81). Rebooting the router, resetting the settings does not help.

No problem with other devices like PS4, TV, Windows laptops.

Next to the Macbook is an old DELL XPS running Windows - Wi-Fi and internet are great, no problem.

PS: Iphone is experiencing similar issues after updating to 14.0.1.

For the first time in 10 years of using Apple devices, I faced such a problem. When nearby old Windows laptops are working fine and new Apple devices are not working (((

Please help. At the moment, the devices cannot work stably due to these problems.

Thanks!

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

Hi!

So I may have found the issue. I was online with a tech from Apple, shout-out Sarah, and we determined that my Norton 360 anti-malware software was causing the issue. It is most likely due to an incompatibility between the recent update 10.15.7. If you have Norton installed on your computer this could be the issue, however this could be the case with any anti-malware software that isn't recommended by Apple. I have removed Norton from my computer and the issue seems to be resolved. If this helps please let me know!

P.S: I will be reinstalling Norton as soon as an update is available and fixes the bug.

My Wifi stopped working after an update. I followed the advice to delete the Wifi in the Network Preferences list and then when I went to add it back there was nothing there.

Seems like the laptop wasn't recognizing the wifi hardware. I found this other solution by Adrian Try on softwarehow that worked.

  1. "Try restoring the default settings for your hardware (including your Wi-Fi adapter) by resetting your NVRAM. First, shut down your computer, then when you boot it, hold down Option+Command+P+R until you hear the startup chime."

I also have a deep issue on my old MacBook Pro mid 2012 which I updated 10.15.7 a week ago but there are some huge problems that I've been facing like:

  • the transparent dock and menu bar is now pure solid black even I didn't switch on to toggling the Increase Contrast on the accessibility settings
  • App Store makes my entire system freeze every time I have to open it to install new apps :( I need to force my laptop to shutdown to use my MacBook again.
  • I have a problem with the motion which I didn't have any issues before with the previous version.
  • Slow performance

I love my MacBook Pro Mid 2012, since I bought this I don't have any plans to upgrade since this is the most hefty and durable feel I could hold from Apple. Since upgrading to this last Catalina version.. seems like Apple wants my MacBook freeze to death because of this issues. It's so unfair.

The report says this machine has configuration profiles.

Are you aware of existing "configuration profiles" on this machine?

They are usually not present. Two contexts in which they might appear are:

a) machines set up for a corporate environment

b) existence of adware

You don't need the WD software. Drive manufacturer's software are never needed, and sometimes cause issues.

"Memory Clean" - DON'T!!!

This runs counter the OS management of memory and can seriously degrade performance.

Those internet plug-ins are (probably) unnecessary. Silverlight does not work in any current browser, and you don't need Adobe to read pdf files in the browser.

Hmmm....

This may have to do with those profiles:

[Loaded] com.SoftwareSecure.goloader.plist (? 0 - installed 2016-09-22)

Wondering if your wifi is still stable (now nov 25) after removing Malwarebytes premium? My daughter has 2018 MacBook Air and she is constantly bumped out of internet. All other devices (including Older devices like my iPhone 7) in house seem to be fine - we have both 2g and 5g band on our router netgear router. Apple had me reset the system management controller yesterday but this do NOTHING. Not sure if I should upgrade to BIG SUR OS

Running 15.7 as well on MBP 2017 and notice this issue. I will be working and my network connection immediately cuts out. I run a continuous ping to 8.8.8.8 on my MBP and on my iPhone (Cell data off) simultaneously and everything looks good on my phone while my MBP times out. I updated from 10.13.6 a few months back and did not notice this happening at all. The only fix is to disassociate with my SSID and associate again.

Hi guys, yes I have same problem like hundreds in this Forum. i do agree all our problems started when Apple released the latest security updates. I have been fighting this issue for 2 weeks now and still no answare from Apple. Where did you get Beta Security Update for 10.15.7 ? I did try to reinstall an older operating system and this is what I got during the installation apple.com/support. -2003F

Any help please?

Hey there!

I posted a few times on this issue. It’s been a while. Anyhow, considering what you’ve said, the first place I’d look is:

System Preferences > Network > Advanced > Proxies.

Is anything other than the bottom one enabled?

If so, un-check it > Done > Apply, then test the issue.

Your cause maybe something else, but I’d check here first, as if it’s enabled, and you didn’t do it, most likely you have adware installed that did, but that can be easily removed if that’s the case.

Otherwise, make sure the time and date is set correctly in System Preferences > Date and Time, likewise check the Time Zone, and Region etc. If wrong for whatever reason, this can cause the internet connection to fail.

Otherwise, does the same happen on another network? Even if you connect to a hotspot for testing purposes? And likewise, are all apps affected? Such as Mail, Safari, Contacts, etc.
