I used to be able to connect via Bluetooth to my 2012 Ford. I was also able to plug into the Sync system to play music. However after a few updates from Apple, I can no longer use the blue or the Sync function. Ver frustrating! Any suggestions?

One more thing I forgot to add. Try a full power down restart
of the iPhone. I needed to do that at some point in time
to restore the USB connectivity.
FWIW, my iPhone 11 Pro with iOS 14 still works with the Microsoft Sync
system on my 2012 Focus either with Bluetooth or USB.
Note that for USB the iPhone needs to be unlocked before
it will work. If it is on the lock screen it won't work with
USB.
As for Bluetooth, the 2012 systems have always
been a bit funky and you may need to go through a full
device removal from Sync and then re-add the phone.
