I have a brand new Iphone 11 Promax and a brand new set of airpods pro and they are freezing my iphone. Also sometimes it will just pause the freeze and play something else randomly. I tried them on an iphone xr and it did the same. Please help!!!
Well I’ve figured it out no other blue tooth device can be connected. I had to disconnect my Apple Watch to use them. And when u get in the car I have to unhook my phone from being on blue tooth with my car
if you have an Apple Watch, go into the app, go to accessibility, and scroll down to AirPods, click on your AirPods name and make them default. If you don’t have an Apple Watch, disconnect your AirPods and forget them from your device, hold for 15 seconds until they are orange and then they turn a light purple on the inside, after that connect them back to your phone.
This worked but is ridiculous. I have to do it every single time. For such expensive things Apple, get it together bro. You're saving all this money by holding out on power bricks, use that money to fix your crap.
I don't get this is problem if I use good but less sophisticated wireless earbuds - ones without the 'detect if you take it out of your ear' and all that. Sony WF-1000XMF and Airbuds you get this freezing and incompatible with iphones connected to iwatches, but mifo 05 plus (highly recommend and a lot cheaper) work fine. (I am using a lot of wireless earbuds during COVID for Zoom meetings and music with more than one of us working from home). I can only use the Sony and Apple Airbuds with my Macbook.
The mifo earbuds too *don't* immediately set off music playing as soon as you connect - which is something that annoys the **** out of me - it really ought to be something you can opt out of for the Airpods FFS
unpair the Apple Watch and the air buds and phone will work fine. Spent a day troubleshooting with Apple and couldn’t figure it out. Found that on another discussion board and worked immediately.
I’m having this same problem. They used to work just a few days ago and now they are freezing any app that uses sound. I can’t watch Netflix, pandora, or anything that would use the AirPods.

I’m having the same freezing issue with my iPhone XR when connected to with my AirPod pros. I’ve had my AirPods Pro for 2 months. Didn’t have this problem until the recent update.
i have already cleaned and reset my AirPod pros.
I backed up and reset my entire phone and the problem went away.
I am having this same issue. I just purchased airpod pros and had them replaced and having the same issue since the update. They still arent connected but freezing my phone.
Glad to find out that it’s not just me. The AirPod Pro is a horrible investment at this point especially with such a large price tag. What’s the fix for this??
