Apple Pencil Glitching

My pencil keeps glitching on Notability - drawing random lines and dots, like an electronic fountain pen spill. And it breaks up my writing.

I have the 2020 iPad 12.9 inch, and 2nd gen Apple Pencil

I've tried the following things:

getting a new Apple Pencil
restarting the iPad
reconnecting the Pencil
turning off other devices nearby (to try stop interference)
holding the metal side of the iPad while writing, to see if it was a grounding issue and also removing the case while writing
taking the iPad out the charger while writing

I've noticed it glitches mainly on Notability, however I don't use the other apps enough to be able to tell if its a Notability issue or a general one...

Very annoying! Anyone got any ideas? Side note, the iPad gets kind of warm with Notability - anyone else get this?

So I was having an Apple Pencil glitch like the other on here, and specifically while using the notability app as well. I have also tried all the other methods and nothing worked. But after chatting with the Amazon support member (yes I know, odd lol) he told me to make sure the pencil tip was tightened all the way, meaning if the tip wasn’t twisted all the way then do so. And that was the issue I was having. My pencil has been working great since. Please try keeping hour pencil tip twisting that can cause the pencil to glitch. Hope this helps!

This happens w me all the time. I contact support and they changed my ipad (7th generation) for a new one, but the problem persists. Now they told me that it’s a software problem and cannot do anything so i’m looking for some help!!

This does not fix it whatsoever. I've disabled this for weeks now and the issue is still there.

I've the pro 12,9 from 2020 and my first one had it and the replacement as well which is absolutely ridiculous.

I've also tried everything now and the only one that seems to work is remove my case but as others say , thats not the solution at all. I think the 2018 11 inch doesn't be affected that much thus some of the smaller modells seems to have it too but fare more rarely than the 12,9 inch does....

I was so hopeful that the disabling of clicking to change from pen to eraser would help, but alas, the problem is still happening on the two apps that I use my pencil with (grading in Google Classroom and writing in Notability).

I have this problem too and am so frustrated because I've found so many suggestions online and have tried them all and this issue still persists! My apple pencil 1st generation worked way better with my 4th gen ipad air so I feel like my new 2020 pro has been a total waste of money. I rely on the apple pencil to take college notes and for digital art so I feel totally scammed

Can you provide more detail with regards to how it is glitching? there are many ways in which the apple pen does this and it various amongst settings, or apps (ie. ‘DrawSomething’ where it splits the already drawn image and duplicates it to the other side of the screen, or how it creates randomized dots and relocates the thing which you’ve drawn. When the image is sent, the recipient does not seem some of the glitches - making this more odd)

I just tried your suggestion and it seems to have corrected the problem. I’ll give it a couple of weeks as well.

so i got this problem constantly when my ipad IS NOT plugged, that’s why i can’t find anyone who could help me 😬 that’s very sad because we buy expensive stuff to work and that’s not happing

I for one will not be investing in the new iPad until I read that this issue has been resolved.
