macOS display rotation reset on wake

This problem started occurring immediately after upgrading to macOS 10.15.7.

I have two external displays (both dell U2414H) one of which is set to 90 rotation in the MacOS display settings under system preferences and I use this display in ‘portrait’.

When I wake my MacBook Pro from sleep the screen rotation setting on my portrait monitor is reset to ‘standard’, and I have to go through the display settings to change it back to 90 degrees.

Both displays use a displayport cable (on the display end) that plug into each of the two thunderbolt ports on my 13" MacBook Pro Retina, Late 2015.

I have submitted a report using the feedback assistant.

Utterly unhelpful reply there. Wondering if it is a bot? I think it would be fairly easy for a human to understand from my post that I had already had figured out how to rotate the screen.

After several restarts and resetting the PRAM and SMC this issue seems to have resolved itself.
