Still receiving texts from blocked numbers

if this poster is correct, the "Block this caller" feature in iOS does not block SMS messages.

Perhaps that's why apple calls the feature "block this caller" and not "block this contact/user"

Given how pervasive this issue is with iOS 14.x, we may all assume there is no way to reliably block inbound SMS from hitting your phone, as of May, 2021, without calling your provider.

lame. My Nokia 200 phone from the nineties could block messages better.

Are these SMS texts (green bubble) or iMessage (blue bubble)?

I called my provider, T-Mobile, and I haven’t had this issue anymore.

You will need to work with your cell service provider to block SMS texts.

The exact thing happened to me a few times....after you block them in contacts..you then need to do a reset on your phone...each iPhone is different as to how to reset......not a reset that wipes out your data...just a soft reset...it fixed the issue everytime...and they all were blocked..hope this helps

Apple cannot block SMS texts you will need to talk to your service provider about that.

To block SMS texts you will need to contact your cell service provider.

I’ve had the same exact issue. So I tried resetting my iPhone, turning it on & off, and it worked. Maybe try that. Best of luck !

still having this issue with only one person except i can’t send texts back as if i’m blocked as well, i’m not sure if you’ve gotten it fixed. but on iphones you can set your (Text & Receive) to multiple things. Being , if they have a Mail email , they could use that. If they have an iPad or iPod with a different AppleID, they could use that. While still getting messages on their phone.

Are these iMessages (blue bubble) or SMS (green bubble)?

1. Notify the police.
2. Are these coming in as blue iMessages or green SMS texts? If the latter contact your cell service provider.

If you block some one you can continue to text them but they can text you back.

There are some SMSs then even when blocked will be able to send SMS. See the pic below

I am having this exact same issue and it has only been since I updated to iOS 14 as well. They are not “bulk SMS providers” as suggested below, they are regular phone numbers from people that I know. This is very frustrating.
