AirPods Pro firmware 3A283 resulted in loss of noise cancellation and good seal for both ears

Hi all.

I recently bought AirPods Pro from Amazon. As soon as they arrived the experience was very good, the ear test has passed with good seal for both ears and noise cancellation was good. Then the update to firmware version 3A283 happened and suddenly no more good seal for both ears, no matter which cup I tried, and noise cancellation completely gone, sounding like off or transparent mode.

So I thought to replace the AirPods Pro from Amazon. I received the new ones and they were again working properly. Then the firmware update happened again and the same problem is now back. Exactly the same problem.

Definitely this is not a hardware related problem, but a firmware one. I wonder if other are experiencing the same. I am going to bring them to the Apple Store and see what they say anyway.

Hi alex178ita,

Let’s see what’s going on so you can enjoy your new AirPods Pro. You haven’t mentioned any troubleshooting you have tried, so we’d like to recommend a few suggestions.

1)         Have you seen and tried the steps here: If Active Noise Cancellation isn't working as expected on your AirPods Pro

2)         Make sure the device you are pairing your AirPods with doesn’t need updating.

3)         Try unpairing the AirPods and set them up as you did when they were new. See this link:  Connect and use your AirPods and AirPods Pro

4)         Next, you may want to try resetting the AirPods Pro following this link: Reset your AirPods

We hope these steps help!
