AirPods Pro make my phone freeze up

Is any one else having issues with Airpods to connect when trying to use them, for me to get them to have sound right away in the bluetooth settings i have to go to test the sound for them to work other than that, when i try to connect them the regular way it makes my phone freeze up. Im not sure if it's the new IOS that made them do that or if it's the air pods it self. What should i do about this. or what has help other people.

I resolved an issue where my AirPods Pro were connecting to my iPhone 12 Pro Max, however, my device was glitchy/buggy while AirPods Pro were connected. Not only was it glitchy but the audio was not functioning properly on the AirPods Pro. Considering this issue was discovered day one of the purchase, I was very disappointed. The second gen AirPods worked just fine with my phone AND the new AirPods Pro also worked fine on a different iPhone 12 Pro Max. Only I was having the issue. The only difference between my iPhone and the other was that my iPhone was paired to my Apple Watch.

The issue was resolved by disconnecting the AirPods Pro AND unpairing the Apple Watch from my iPhone. The AirPods Pro were then re-connected without audio issues and without bug issues. Once it was determined that the AirPods Pro were no longer a problem, the Apple Watch was re-paired. Now all three devices run smoothly.

If you have any other devices (Apple Watch, Bluetooth Speaker, etc) that are connected to your device via Bluetooth, I would suggest unpairing them first before pairing your AirPods.

"I have been having the same issue. I have the most recent iOS 14.3 update. My AirPod pros are still having difficulty connecting with my Apple Watch and phone together as it will still freeze up my phone. Any ideas?"

Syncing is N/A:

You can only synchronize these one device at a time. So, disable bluetooth on one the iPhone, and then iPhone would not freeze.

I have an iPhone 11 Pro and a watch series 3. I got my AirPods Pro over 3 months ago and they only worked for a few hours before they started freezing my phone. They’ve been put away ever since which makes me mad as well for as expensive as they are. I just pulled them out and tried doing the reset for the 100th time to see if 14.3 fixed the problem and it didn’t. These things are useless and it’s such a disappointment from Apple. So many months and no fix! Wow!

I have the same problem. The airpod pros are brand new and not connected with any other system only my iPhone. The connection process causes my iPhone to freeze. I can’t connect. Hey Siri does not work. I have restarted my phone updated everything. I have unpaired and re-paired the AirPods. and totally reset the AirPods…when attempting to reset and forget the AirPods the amber light never turns on. The issues remain. It is very frustrating and I feel like I have wasted so much time and money on these things I’ve only had them for a short while and now I am about to give up on them.

I just got the AirPod Pros and I’m wicked disappointed by this. I’m not going to stop using my watch just to use my AirPods. This is upsetting. I was on FaceTime and wanted to switch to my AirPods and when I did, it ended the call, and I could not place any calls with them. I had to put them back in the case in order to call out or receive the call again. Apple should really fix this. I rely on my Apple Watch for HR monitoring as I have a condition. I may consider selling them if this issue isn’t resolved and that makes me sad cause I really liked the idea of them.
