green lines or bars randomly across screen- only in export

I am randomly getting green horizontal lines (or bars) that flash across the screen- but only in the export.

I see some very old discussions on this, but nothing with Current versions of Final Cut.

Final Cut Pro X 10.4.10 - Mac Pro 2013, 128GB memory, 2.7GHz 12 core, Radeon Pro580 8GB, 24TB OWC Raid for 'working' disc.

I still have original video files (from GoPro Hero9 black, 4k 60fps)- but it is a rather long project and I really don't want to do it all over if I don't have to.

ideas?

Is the original the same frame rate? Why does there appear to be letterboxing, or is that just the screen shot?

Dump the render files. Do not render before exporting. Switch off background rendering. Do you have difficulty playing the original files without rendering? If the green lines are happening consistently through the media, you should try optimizing the media and check the optimized files for the green streaks.

I always optimize (or thought I was).

Another update- I exported to ‘Apple 1080p devices’ and it works fine. Only the Apple 4k devices has an issue.

Please post a screenshot of what you’re setting. Can you give the exact specs of media and the project properties? Do the errors appear in the same place every time you export?

What’s the media and project specs? That’s really important. Why is it letterboxed? You can export segments of the project. Mark in and out points to test.

MPEG-4

Data rate: 100.10 Mbit/s

FPS: 59.94

Perhaps something with changing the frame rate?

I thought the AppleTV 4k would play 59.94 FPS, but I don't see a way to export it that way.

the 'computer' file format plays just fine (streaming) on my iPad Pro 12.9". but will not work at all on AppleTV4k

but I get the green bars no matter what when I chose 'Apple Devices'. It shows compatible with AppleTV 4k in the check box.

I just tried with another shorter file recorded later-I get the same results.

I had the clip in a 4K project that matched the original. Exported to Apple Devices 4K, which reduced the frame rate to 29.97. Didn't get any green bars as you showed. That's very strange.

the lines occur all of the way through I’ve watched so far- but just flash on the screen. I don’t know if they are the same place, since it take hours to ‘share’.

Exported at 4k ‘Apple device’. I’ve had these show up before, but never really figured out what.

I deleted all renders, re-rendered it and I’m exporting again.
