Apple Watch - Walkie Talkie - New Conversation, my iPhone starts ringing!

I just called Apple this evening and it was useless. The representative/tech was not able to resolve the issue, which I was prepared for. However, my issue is that he put me on a 5 minute hold and then Apple disconnected the call. No call back from Apple and no email. My overall goal was to place another complaint regarding the issue so that maybe Apple will address it. Very frustrating.

Updated software on phone and watch. Worked once and then the wheels fell off - back to phone ringing every time someone tries to reach me via WT.

Either the fix is not a priority to Apple OR far more difficult than anyone thought.

My phone is running 14.3 and watch running 7.2. So is my daughters phone and watch. We just updated the software. But the problem continues (my phone rings and says my daughter‘s name with the word “null” afterwards) when she tries to ring me when my watch’s walkie talkie app is not active.....

I think it must be a coincidence that installing the new iPhone software fixing the issue...

It has stopped working for me at all. I cannot establish communication with the walkie-talkie from one applewatch to another, when before I can. I have deleted the contact from the walkie-talkie and now when I add it again it does not connect. I do not get it. My applewatch is a series 5 and the other one I am trying to communicate with is a series 1. All devices updated to the latest version.

Also having this problem on an iPhone X running 14.1 (14A8395), Apple watch Gen 4 7.0.2 (18R402).

I don't use walkie talkie much, but I've noticed this bug happening since iOS 14 was introduced...

Do you mean that ios 14.2 will fix this issue?

Thanks for the update. Looking forward to Apple's fix. This issue makes using Walkie-Talkie less enjoyable.
