iPhone 12 not getting notifications

I set up my new device, and my notification settings are turned on and the same as my previous phone, but I am not getting notifications on the new device. My old device, connected to Wi-Fi, is getting notifications. Again the settings I checked and they are all the same on both devices.

Can someone please help me to get my notifications?

Thank you

  1. Go to General > iOS Storage.
    • On some older iOS versions, it is called Storage & iCloud Usage.
    • If you select that option, choose Manage Storage on the next page.
  1. Tap the Hangouts app from the list to see how much space the app is taking up
    • It should show how much space is the app itself or just its associated documents and data.
  1. Select Delete App
  2. Confirm it once more to remove the app from your iOS device.
  3. Go to iTunes store and install Hangouts iOS app
  4. Accept all permissions.
  5. Test.
  6. If you still have issues, send in-app feedback from the classic Hangouts app.

Ok, update! So as I've opened each app, I've started to get notifications for those apps. That seems to be the trick for me. I have my old phone next to the new phone. When I get a notification on my old phone and not the new phone, I open the app on the new phone. Usually it asks me to sign in and that's what's holding up the notifications (maybe).

Hey mickeddie,

We see that you're not getting any notification on your new iPhone 12, and we'd like to help!

Please double check all the steps that are offered from the article here: Use notifications on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Be sure to also check out the bottom section that says 'If you don't see notifications for a specific app' for additional steps.

Let us know if this helps!

Warm regards.

Well I think I have fixed it for me. Listing the steps here, perhaps it will work for you!

  1. log into your icloud id or ids if you have more than 1 on a web browser on your iPad or laptop. Not on your iPhone.
  2. top right corner go into iCloud settings and scroll down to where it shows you all your devices associated to your iCloud Id
  3. Delete every single device from each of your iCloud ids. In my case, I had my old iPhone was attached to one of my ids.
  4. then log into Facebook on your browser, not app, and go into settings and then security. Look for a list of your devices logged into and log out of each device. Do that for any other app that you are not getting notifications for.
  5. now go back to your primary new iPhone 12, uninstall end reinstall each app you logged out of.
  6. Make sure that in your iCloud settings for iPhone 12, no other associated device shows up. You can add an iPad or MacBook later.
  7. Log back into your apps and this should all work.

did for me, hope it does for you!

I had the same issue. This solved the problem for me:

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Select General.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and select Reset.
  4. Turn off and turn back on your iphone
  5. Delete and reinstall all the apps whose notifications do not work. (first take a copy if you have any important local data which is not stored in the cloud.)
  6. If it still doesn't work, you might need to one more time turn off and on your iphone.

I have had this same issue as well. I havent received notifications since I got my 12 and even had one of my friends complain that he had to call me twice to get it to go through. First call always went straight to voicemail, but second one would come through if he called me right back. That got me thinking about the Do Not Disturb function. Even though I have DND turned off it still has the two options for Silence. Either “Always” or “When iPhone Is Locked” and one option has to be selected on the current iOS. Apple needs to fix this function immediately and add a “Never” option or something along those lines. I love my new phone but I do not and will not always keep it unlocked and in my hand waiting for a notification. Thats kinda why we have them setup in the first place.

I’ll join the crowd. I’m getting some notifications on my iPhone 12 Pro but not getting most notifications. I’ve checked settings multiple times and settings are correct. Could this be a problem with IOS 14.2 as it seems this problem started happening right around then. My iPad running 14.2 is getting all notifications, sure hope this problem gets resolved soon.
