iPhone 12 Pro Overheating

Haven’t seen much on this yet and was curious if anyone out there with either an iPhone 12 or 12 Pro is experiencing any overheating issues. I had major overheating problems while setting up the iPhone which isn’t too out of the norm. However the overheating issues have seemed to persist since getting the phone set up. The backup is fully restored so there shouldn’t be much background activity occurring. I’m also experiencing abysmal battery life as well, along side the drastic overheating. I do tend to favor 5G On over 5G Auto as I live in an area with a pretty expansive sub6 5G network. But either way the phone is still prone to overheat under minimal load. I also have been experiencing an occasional flicker on the screen which is something I haven’t seen on any apple oled panels before. Like I said I haven’t seen many forums or posts anywhere about this issue so thought I would reach out to the community and see if anyone is experiencing anything similar!

But only using one app for less than 15 minutes (e.g. reading the news) and the device overheating to the point that it’s too hot to touch is not normal. I have been told borh by the reaeller and Apple Support that this device needs to be repaired. I suggest everyone who experience inreasonable overheating woth their iPhone 12 Pro return it to be repaired or replaced. This is surely a manufacturing error, something’s wrong with a batch of devices.

I’ve had my iPhone 12 Pro Max since last year when released. It just recently started overheating in the last few weeks. It then starts flickering, sometimes faster than other times. If I continue using it, the screen gets very dark, as of the brightness slider was adjusted to the minimum level. After I turn off the screen for 15-20 minutes it’s fine. This indoor use in an air conditioned environment. It takes about an hour or so to overheat. I will contact Apple tech support but I’m curious if anyone has had the flickering and screen dimming. And if you did, did Apple fix it. Thanks.

This thread has moved way past troubleshooting. There is some , yes. Most of it is a constant description of what seems to be the same problem and an additional description of how Apple hasn’t helped anyone. I’m sure Apple is more than aware of the small amount of Users that are suffering this issue. Which does not get a result. This forum is not going to provide that.

Fax upper Executive's. Those numbers are public knowledge and the preferred method of contact. So, document, document, document.

Look I’ve been following this issue closely for months across several “avenues”.

Please trust me when I say there is absolutely no known solution to this as of this writing. Resetting your phone will achieve nothing. I have gone through every single possible fix and nothing helps across 4 iPhone 12 in the family.

This is a design issue and I stand by it. I don’t ever expect a fix from Apple.

My iPhone 12 Pro Max is a month and 5 days old, it has been a nightmarish transition from android

this phone OVERHEATS and does not even give off the temperature warning. Like in the other comments, I use the Apple adapter and usb to charge the phone. I hardly have more than five apps active in a given time. The worst was when I created a Facebook article in my blog account and as I was about to finish off my 1 hours worth of work, the phone screen stopped responding- the heat at back of the phone (near the cameras) was insanely high- after tapping it here and there, the screen blacked out and it was off. I don’t what was more frustrating, my brand new phone’s malfunctioning or my hour’s worth of typing and editing all forever gone?

I was not charging the phone at all. I reached out to apple support, they ran diagnostics remotely and said nothing is wrong with the phone. I went to a physical service center and the result were the same. The heat is intolerable. What’s worse is my Instagram app is also faulty. The videos I upload on my stories have bo sound. At first nothing was wrong and one day, one story loaded up mute. I tried all tricks. NOTHING works. Apple I don’t think this is the kind of service you’d expect one to pay for. I truly need answers. I bough this expensive slab to further my interest in blogging and vlogging. I find it utterly useless. It has broken my spirit.

dont think a full reset is acceptable. I’ve had multiple iPhones and this the only version to heat up. Its not even lukewarm it’s genuinely not far from actually overheating. Battery health also has been hit, I’ve gone down 6% in 2 months. And all I do is is use wireless charging. My Xs Max had 92% health after 2 and a half years. This is already 94%
