iPhone 12 Pro Overheating

Well guys if you think about it you are downloading apps, setting it up, it’s connecting for the first time... I’m not surprised that it is heating up because it is downloading a lot of stuff and getting set up for the first time

I’m sorry but I don’t work for apple, and I’m not blaming the adapter... I can’t tell you the exact answer every time so I am sorry if I don’t get it right the first time. How can it be a design flaw when being put under so much stress for the first time? You guys will notice a difference in temperature later on in use of this iPhone I believe

I’m mot running background apps and it’s been 4 days and still overheating. I’m not running anything while charging (it is really bad then). Makes it difficult to use - hoping a resolution comes soon. I called support and was transferred to assurion.

Same problem here. UGH. This is why I don't get new phones LOL. Had no issues with my 6s that I have been using for the last 5 years. Decided it was time. Can't believe I spent $1500 on a piece of crap. Should have known better. :(

I pre-ordered the iPhone 12. It did get a little warm while setting it up. But it has continued to be very hot while I charge it, and I don’t have a wireless charger. I’ve just been using the same chargers I was using for my previous iPhone 11. I just took my phone off the charger, it was charging for about an hour, And when I went to go pick it up it was so hot I could barely touch it.

I have purchased IPhone 12 few days back. I noticed that it gets overheated while charging.

Sometimes I find my phone warmer even when it’s locked and aim doing nothing!

Not sure what may be the problem!

Can anyone please suggest me an answer?

I wasn’t even considering 5G has anything to do with over heating as plenty of people have stated their 5G is switched off, I know using 5G can make the phone hot but this problem seems something completely different as turning off 5G makes no difference, I really want to order the iPhone 12 Pro Max but I’m holding back a while to see how this goes first

I’m having the exact same issue I thought maybe it would go away but today for the first time in the long span of 10 years I got a temperature screen locked the phone to cool down I’m like what is this? But yea the phone was on fire no case please help

I also get this as well, when im charging my phone as well, my case feels really warm, don't know if design flaw, or manufacturing problem on the first batch of made phones.

I had all my apps closed, not even using the phone, charging on the Apple block, phone was extremely hot to the touch. Like scary. Something is wrong. You guys are going to end up having these phones explode in peoples faces. I haven’t had this phone for more than a couple days.

I received my 12 pro yesterday. No issues but today noticed it was getting hot to the touch and I was only browsing Facebook. This made me concerned and I too ended up on this thread when I looked it up to see if others were having similar issues. I switched from the XR and copied/transferred all of my settings over on to this phone from the XR and I never had problems with it getting hot.

I have had the 12 for five days and it just started getting pretty warm and slow this morning. I hope its a software issue not a hardware issue. I powered it down and will keep it off for a bit. Thanks for sharing

My iPhone 12 is less than a week old and I’ve had a handful of times already noticeably hot phone that I never experienced in my older iPhone 6s that I just upgraded from.

Thinking about returning the 12 and upgrading to an 11 instead because I agree the phone is too expensive and too new to not be able to perform basic daily functions without overheating.

I bought my new iPhone 12 pro today and facing the same issue. It gets overheat easily and I have issue also with Face ID which is not detecting my face for setup!! I tried a million times but didn't work, I tried with other faces (family members) and still no detection. I think this new product of apple has a serious problem
