iPhone 12 Pro Overheating

Great. So if this is just a small population having issues surely apple can replace with a good decide. Because they MUST be out there right?

I have gone through 5 between the ones at home and the replacement I got. All have the same issue. I have asked every person I know personally with a 12 and every single one of them says they have the same issue.

I don’t. Are if there is just 10 phones with the issue. I paid $1000 and I want a working one. Apple has done nothing to fix this for whatever number of phones have the problem. Whether 10, 1000 or all of them.

I use to play Cod a lot before, now I can’t even play for few min. Phone gets blazing hot just within the first game. 12 pro max should handle this game like piece of cake, that’s what I expected. I have even reduced the graphics and refresh rates. What a waste

Using navigation apps or the GPS always causes heating because the phone needs to constantly interrogate GPS to locate itself, update the map, and so on.

Even if it doesn't cause noticeable heating, it will draw the battery down quite quickly.

If on battery, you're best off checking your location, putting your phone to sleep and checking back.

If in a car, just make sure you're connected to power and it's no big deal, though you probably want to put the phone to sleep if you have a model with an OLED screen to avoid display burn-in.

My IPhone 12 Pro also keeps overheating at different times for no apparent reason (i.e. - while charging, watching a movie, or updating). All of a sudden, I get the temperature warning. I just hope it doesn’t just catch on fire. I’ve tried contacting apple and they say it’s normal, but is it? It’s never happened with any of my other ones and I have owned every other model since the first iPhone. Please help. Yes I’ve rebooted and I keep all my apps closed and software updated.

Yes, happening with me too. I have noticed that it heats up in the middle of the charging and when its done, its cooler..Weird

This is going back to O2 , bloody hot this.

i think the first batch have issues with them.

and the battery is dropping like mad.

Was told I could not get an exchange phone.

I suspect that it is related to iOS 14 machine learning which only takes place during charging.

yes, it overheats like crazy and the performance drops after games. not to mention, when you play games it lasts only 3hs with my iphone 12.

Just got new iPhone 12 and noticed it overheating after 10 minutes of playing games. I closed all open apps and still overheats. Could the phone case cause this issue?

No, there are many sensors inside that will shut it down before it gets warm enough to cause damage.

What did Apple Support tell you to do when you contacted them?

I have noticed that also. With just a few minutes of use my iPhone 12 Pro gets very warm. Even over WiFi. I upgraded from a iPhone 7 Plus and never experienced this kind of thing with it.
