iPhone 12 Pro Wireless Charging Issues

I picked up the iPhone 12 Pro yesterday, and I can't get wireless charging to work properly. I have two Qi charging pads, both from different manufactures, and the 12 pro will only charge from them if it's been freshly rebooted. If I take the phone off the pad, and then place it back on the pad, it will not charge again unless I reboot the phone. The pads charge my Xs and my Galaxy S9, so they're not the problem. Anybody else having issues with wireless charging on the 12 pro?

Bring it back and exchange it - there are many people who claim this is a software problem, but the question is why isn't all iPhone 12 Pro phones having this issue? They've sold many of these phones and you'd think there would be thousands of complaints by now online.

I did two hard resets and nothing improved. It never charged wirelessly for me. I put it on a Qi compliant Mophie puck and another Qi charger and the same thing happens. It charges for a second and then stops.

I contacted Apple support and they said to bring it back and that it was not a software bug. Not that I expect Apple to admit it but if it is not a software bug then you'll be very sorry that you did not exchange it within the warranty period. Make sure you at the very least document this with Apple Support before your exchange period expires.

Dude......I'm trying to help people with my real experiences. Not sure what got your panties in a knot, but I'm offering options which do for many help them. What advice other than complaining are you actually offering, dude?

Rebooting for many will work.

Buying newer chargers with higher output QC3.0 bricks and dual charging plates will work.

I did both and have no issues charging at home or office.

If that's ****bent, so be it, dude........

I did that already but they didn’t have phones to replace my iPhone 12 Pro with (all stick being reserved for new orders promised to customers who placed initial orders online).

Maybe now a few weeks later they have more stock?

I have seen some people who said they got replacement phones that resolved the issue and others where problem still existed on the replacement too.

Worth a try though. Good luck.

Update,

I purchased this PowerLot https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08F9QRBJ4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

from the list https://www.wirelesspowerconsortium.com/products

It is 15W, I used a 27W power adapter and it works well for my iPhone 12 mini. Charged from 78% to 100% in about 15 minutes. The Geekera does not work with the mini. I am hoping to find a pad so I can charge my watch and AirPods together but seem to have solved my issue...at least for now!

It is definitely in the Phone's firmware......Can get it back working with a force reset that does not do anything but essentially a cntrl-alt-del on your computer......

From the Home Screen......Up volume button quick......Down volume button quick......Hold the side button until it reboots to the Apple Icon......This basically does a "force reboot and wipe "......So it un-sticks it......

Definitely going to be a fix in the IOS or bios once they figure out what is doing it......

There is a "deeper" reset......This one worked for me......So I did need or want to go farther down the rabbit hole.....

Same problem - even bought a new charger. When that didn't work, I came to the forums (should've come here first I guess, whoops) .. brand new 12 pro

Just turned phone off and restarted and is now working.

Anybody from Apple out there listening???

Not here. This is strictly user to user, and Apple doesn't participate on this forum. You can provide feedback to Apple via this link, which will be read --> https://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

As I said in previous post, it’s a phone problem, it’s not Qi compatible it’s only msg safe compatible.
so you know it’s a huge step backward. I believe with update they sober a few issues, as it started working for me, without any changes at all or buying new hardware. Hope you can figure it out.

Nope. They are Qi Wireless compatible. We have both iPhone 12 and 12 Pro Max, both of which charge reliably night after night on newer (not Apple either) Qi Wireless Charging stands.

no, in a previous post i mentioned that the iphone 12 doesn’t charge with or without my magsafe case on the wireless charger in my brand new accord sport (which is on the list of compatible makes). been seeing a lot of people with the inability to charge in their car’s wireless charging tray. apple is telling me to return my phone for a replacement; that it must be a hardware issue.
