iPhone 12 Pro messaging videos with blue / turquoise / cyan video

I think it does. Cause a short brief video worked fine without changing anything. It is the longer 3 min vid that had to be airdropped. I think that’s all it is. Size matters on this one. Lol

It works fine for me if I initiate the video attachment from the photos app itself. If I’m writing an email in iOS mail and attempt to initiate a video attachment from within iOS mail is when I experience the blue / cyan screen issue...

My wife just got the iPhone 12 and we are having the same problem when she sends me videos. (I have an iPhone 7)

Airdrop seems to work, so we are doing it that way for now....

This happens to me as well. Sends fine via AirDrop but doesn't via iMessage

So glad you posted this! I'm having the same issue with a video that's about 2:30 on my iPhone 12 (not pro) and everyone keeps telling me they can only see blue with audio. For some reason the very first time I sent the video to someone, it went through fine, but not to any other numbers since. All have been to other older iPhones. If I try to send the video to an android, I get an error message the the video is too large to send.

I suppose this is the problem with preordering a new generation. Hoping iOS update will fix this.

Same issue - attaching video from photos app and sending video over iOS mail causes a cyan / blue screen and you can hear audio and only see the blue / cyan screen. Seems to happen with all videos iOS 14.2.1 and iphone 12 pro...

Having the same issue with my iPhone 12 Pro, when trying to send videos through messaging app like Viber for example. Happens even with short videos. This is a screenshot a friend of mine sent me back. She’s on iPhone 11, both iOS 14.2

This happened to me too!! But not to everyone and I’m the only one with a iPhone 12 (got the 12 Pro Max). I even sent a video in a group to my daughter and son in law and he got it fine and it was blue for her which I find odd!!! And seems my son who has the 11 Pro sometimes will get them as blue. Airdrop isn’t always an option since he’s in the Air Force in South Dakota and I live in Pa. I hate we have to lower our video quality though. Isn’t that why we got the newer phone? I came from an 8 Plus to the 12.

I had a video about 60 seconds and I different one that was about 50 seconds and neither one would go...they still got the blue screen. Apple has to fix this. I didn’t pay all this $$$ for the 12 pro max to have to send the video through my old iPad!!

I find it interesting that apple recommends your answer and it did not work for me. I took some video and was trying to email it to my work email and it came up turquoise when I opened the email I had audio, and a turquoise full screen. So I did your "fix" for the issue and tried again.

Same problem, so I opened my sent email folder and then opened the video I sent and it was turquoise as well, this is on the phone I recorded the video on. This email was sent after I made the switch you recommended.

I am a video editor and need what I shoot for work, this is critical for my job. Any help would be appreciated.

On a side note when I plugged my phone into my computer directly and went to play the video it was a hunter green on the screen. I also used the vlc media player and it did not work there either.

This doesn’t work. We both have the new iPhone 12 Pro Max. Airdrop works, but shouldn’t have to do that. Insane. Hope a update fixes this issue.

OMG! This has been so frustrating!!! I got my phone on Tuesday 10/17 and this has been the problem ever since. It happens for me with any size video shot on this phone. It won't send in email, text, imessage, GroupMe, or any other way. It seems almost as if the 12 is recording the video in some format or resolution that cannot be read by recipients? So frustrating!!! I'm hoping for a quick fix!!!

My wife’s iPhone 12 Pro does the same thing. She sends me a video and it comes through via iMessage and is just a blue/turquoise screen. The audio is there but no video. That said, I don’t have the same issue on my IPhone 12 Pro, not sure if this issue is isolated to a specific model. Hers is the silver 128gb, mine is the space grey 128gb.
