iPhone 12 Pro speaker audio issues

I am having to take mine back to Apple for a refund and had to purchase a new one online.

I had the support on the phone yesterday, and they made me make several tests.

It’s definitively magsafe related, or at least the magsafe case increases the issue.

the last test was to disable the « ask for attention » in the face ID settings, but it doesn’t work...

the ingeneers are on the case, wait and see ( sorry for the bad english)

I guess it could be a software issue. But I just got the iPhone 12 pro max and my speaker is crystal clear, no static, all sounds consistent levels.

my wife’s iPhone 12 pro not so much. Incidentally when she uses Bluetooth headphones the sound in the AirPods is fine. My thought is if it was a software sound issue than it would most likely exist with the AirPods as well?

Aaah me too! Omg it feels like the speaker is about to explode with the static and buzzing! and when I used spotify the song keeps breaking like a broken record. 😖 The only way to fix it is to restart the phone. Apple must have a solution for this if it does re occur again 😡

Apple released 14.2.1 today, with release notes that include "Made for iPhone hearing devices could have sound quality issues when listening to audio from iPhone"

This sounds maybe possibly similar to the issues we have all seen. Can anyone verify that they have had problems after loading 14.2.1?

Now on my 2nd iPhone 12 and still same issue of high pitched noise, crackling like blown tweeters, can't lower volume low enough either. You can hear the phone's speaker make popping sounds when people speak on the phone. High pitch noise also carries a lot of sibilance "s" on words. Tried 2 different Apple headphones and same issue - very loud high-end frequencies. Gave me a headache after just a few minutes.

I've tested and trouble shooter with apple support - even used the phone on factory setting without installing any apps that might interfere. Also did factory erase too - still no resolution. Tested audio on phone calls before and after update on version 14 and same audio issue of high pitch noise and popping crackling of speaker. Some iPhone 12s are defective either physical hardware or perhaps software release can resolve.

Very disappointed with apple releasing defective products. Makes my stomach sick because I don't have time to waste traveling to store and reinstalling and trouble shooting - ITS NOT MY JOB - ITS APPLES JOB to sell working products not defective equipment wasting our time and money and resources.

So I finally talked to Apple and they are sending me a new phone. I don’t think they really wanted to mess with my problem.

I noticed this morning that while charging overnight, my phone got really hot and the speakers just stopped working. no alarm, no typing noise, no audio from spotify. Once the phone cooled down, my speaker is working just fine.

I brought the 12 pro, after long discussion with customer-support, they asked me to visit the store, and the store-people not providing any solution/fix, so returned it in the 2nd day. Highly disappointed.

Apple team, please let us know what's is going on to resolve this?

yes, the audio sounds like a person talking from a closed drum or tunnel (hallow). Customer support specialist asked me to take it to the store for fix, but the store/Apple doesn't have a fix yet, so I returned the device.

Apple could you please respond on this issue?
