iPhone 12 Pro speaker audio issues

I also only really have this issue when I'm watching something on facebook/instagram. I had an issue with the typing sound not being synced, but a restart seemed to fix that issue.

Just tested the same configuration with the iPad Air 4 and it does the same cracking/popping sound.

I am having the same issue a hard restart helped for 2 days then it was back. My phone also is louder then my computer doing max work so it is very odd

I should add that magsafe charger without power doesn't affect the lock sound, putting the magsafe case on does, looks like it happens when the phone play the magsafe animation/sound on iOS 14.

iPhone 12 here, sometimes static noise can be heard in both speakers, typing and locking sound have volume variation, sound increase as you type same thing happen when locking the device with the button repeatedly. Installed iOS 14.2 GM and issue is still there.

I’ve noticed constant crackling noises coming from the speaker depending on what I’m watching specifically. Homemade videos on Instagram or Facebook seem to be the worst. However, my music and streaming videos sound fine. I’m wondering if it’s not my phone and rather the quality of other videos that my phone is picking up on.

I’ve also notice that the mic doesn’t properly record with the speaker issue is taking place. And this morning I woke to find my alarm was going off but making no sound. Rebooting seemed to fix it for now.

I have the iPhone 12 and am experiencing a static sound when playing videos and music. It happens constantly and whether using earbuds or not. I haven’t heard it on phone calls as of yet. If this is a hardware issue, can I just get a phone replacement?

So sad to see things like this on such a lovely crafted phone.

How fast does Apple usually address these kind of issues ? In terms of how long we will have to wait and see if it’s software related..

Im turning it in today.. No way im paying this much for a phone with this kind of fault.. In hopes that this “might” get fixed in a future software update - no way..

Also the fact that I have a colleague with the totally same model, but dont have the issue..

I am having same issue. When recording videos the playback is just a high pitch buzz. Also yesterday on phone calls could not hear caller. Even when phone just sitting there I hear crackly sounds from speaker.

I have audio problems as well. When I use my Bluetooth (any of them, I have multiples) I can hardly hear. When I’m out for a run, I can barely hear my music. I have retried setting it back to factory but still the same problems occur. I tried customer service and they don’t know. I can’t go to Apple store due to pandemic and can’t make reservations.

Not even 24 hours of having my new iPhone 12 pro, the speakers are making a crackling sound. I put the phone on speaker to Activate the phone and the sound was so muffled. The speakers kept popping and crackling. I noticed when then volume is at half level or higher it pops. Today I answered a call, not on speaker phone and the top speaker where the sound was coming from was crackling so loud I could barley hear the person on the phone. My iPhone XS, never had this issue. The sound quality on this 12 pro is horrible. Apple, what do you suggest ? I restored my phone, what a pain after already going through a new set up. I’m extremely frustrated. A new 1,000 phone and the speakers don’t work. Does anyone have a fix ?!! Is this a hardware or software issue ?!!!
