I received an email charging me $29.99 for a movie I never ordered. As I went through the procedure to cancel it, I was asked for my social security number. Call me crazy but my SSN is not used for anyone. Now I want to make sure I’m not charged for something I’m pretty sure was a scam. I immediately changed my password so if that’s what it was they can’t use the original password.

You should never reply to such a scam. As you cancelled you gave them more info, you must have given them other info besides SS number. Heed this advice...

That was a scam. Changing your password was the right thing to do. If you gave out credit card information, notify your bank.

Most likely this was a phishing attempt to get your password for your account and it sounds like your SSN as well. Never click on links in those type of emails. Check your bank statements and make sure the charge didn't go through as it most likely was a fake receipt.
