iPhone 12 OLED Screen Issue

Hello. I bought two iPhone 12 and both has the same issue. In dark surrounding on any brightness lower than 90-100% screen has this ugly glowing! Black pixels are not turning off in dynamic scenes. In static scene black pixels turning off after few seconds.

My video shows it in video and in clock app.

And this is comparison by another one person who have this problem but with iPhone 12 Pro. iPhone 12 Pro vs iPhone XS screen.

That’s not normal at all. I post it to support and they said I should wait more. That’s just great...

SO after getting two brand new iphone 12 pro max, after ordering Like 9 models , i can confirm all fot this weird LCD like screen in pitch black room on a blakc wallappaer in full screen in photos apps ( to reproduce the issue easily ) or even by jut booting each phones out of the box in my bathroom with no lights on , ( you see this grey flicker...

I got 2 12 pro max today starting with F2 week 51 of production, like most of the ones i got , it's way better than the last one i got starting with G0... the issue is still present but barely visible specialy on one model + no yellow tint...

So i send pics to apple, and they confirmed to me THAT THEY DO NOT READ THESE FORUMS... AT ALL...

if u cant this minor issue ( in their opinion and i agree ) to be fixed , you need to call them and spend 30 min or 1 hour max with tech support and explain them all of this.. issue is software cos it never happen with brigthness at 100% and when the phone boot at first, the screen is perfect , you see the apple logo and then the grey flicker comes for a few seconds, it means that so cores components that initialize when booting up like all the sensor in the notch must be causing a little software bug that most ppl do not see.

they do have enough reports of this specific issue.. if all the people here were to call them maybe they'll will really look into the issue.. i've send pictures to them, spent some time with them, and it's the only solution for a fix to be coming ASAP.

hope most of you will calll them . otherwise they may fix it when 13 is released..

//update from second call from Apple //

the person who incharged of my case will talk to a senior engineer and will gat back to me in two days with “solution” claimed. He told me sending back my devices to the repair center in Prague (for Europe) is useless which I agreed, as I told him I do expected what answer the repair center will gave me after sending the device and running the same analyst tool, telling me the screen is perfectly working.

So I very clear with my goal - I told the customer service I just want a normal OLED screen that’s it. Either is replace my screen or exchange, I don’t care Apple replace it nor échange a new phone i don’t mind but I just want a normal screen. ☺️

will get update everyone after I have a deal (if)

@Dx1d hi can i ask you something ? how many times can u ask for a replacement before they stop ?

im from France and i have the same issue, pro max produced in china week 43 from your website... but how can u know what type of screen and the details of the device you'll have for replacement before you got it ? maybe i missed something.. and how do you know the panel manufacturer too ?

thanks a lot xD

The problem is still there but less obvious. Not sure what’s the issue anymore. When I took a raw picture of the night sky and edit it to the point that only the stars are glowing and rest it’s black, on my iPhone 12 Pro Max screen it’s glowing at all brightness levels while on my wife’s XS Max it’s pure amazing!!! Blacks are not glowing while still seeing the stars...

Thank you for your advise.

Yes I did now contacted with someone with higher level and he the one who take care in person my case. But it was really bad when he request a replacement device and apple france (sales) refuse to replace. So will looking forward after the second repair request from apple repair center. He told me, he will personally follow up the reparation. Finger cross ;) and wish you guys have merry Christmas in advance and happy holiday 😊

Im not sure if I have the same issue but this is the most blurry OLED of all apple's iphones!

Iphone XS Max and 11pro Max were foggy as well but this one is even more foggier!

I like the fact that Apple tunned down saturation level on all OLED iphones in order to have better color accuracy but if this causes iphones displays to look more foggy then either leave the saturation alone ( like samsung phones) or use LCD screens!

In fact , high quality LCD has the best color accuracy and that's why professional monitors use LCD!

Does your new iPhone 12 (no flickering, black is displayed as full black as it is supposed to be done) show any green tint upon slightly tilting? Looking vertical the screen looks a bit yellowish (may be acceptable) but if you slightly tilt a bit the topside towards your face the screen goes instantly green. Tilting the opposite direction this color change might be a bit less fast. Just curious bcs. by iPhone 12PM was so and I sent it back for a new one. Also the replacement was the same and asked for refund. All set now and wait for the iPhone 12S or 13 or whatever the name will be. With the 12 I am through. In particular bcs. Apple does not take care of his customers´ complain in this threat.

Only if I tilt the top phone forward by 45 degree so I see a slight greenish but who would read this way I certainly can’t

is it due to the angle or glass and nothing to do with oled ?

my iPhone X at 45 degrees top forward more of a bluish look

when I boot the phone a matter of less of a second when I see the Apple logo I see green but then it goes away and back to black

anywhere else I do not see it, tried all the different scenarios mentioned in this forum and no issue

this thread is going anywhere.... people who doesn't see any issues with their phones are nw looking for one.. that is RIDICULOUS... i mean ppl like me who came here noticed the issue without knowing it , and not trying to reproduce it ... it's simple, if your display behave as expected in a patch black room then you have nothing to do here.. enjoy your iPhone, i mean come one it's a bit ridiculous...
