iPhone 12 OLED Screen Issue

As I said it behaves well and has no flickering but when the brightness drops to around 30% there is a sort of active backlight and the black pixels do not turn off completely. A display like this could also be fine, it doesn't have an obvious defect to ask for a replacement. While mine is unwatchable! The flickering is quite a serious problem and if it is not resolved by January I will return it.

I bought the 12 pro max on the 12-27 and have returned it twice and got my refund . Mine had a yellow tint . I have an XR and when I placed them next to each other it was like night and day . The only way to achieve almost a similar look as the XR was to turn off True Tone and adjust the tint settings. I thought the 12 was supposed to the best iPhone but now you got to make all this changes to achieve a somewhat similar look like an XR? . So disappointed. I will wait for the 13 at least it’s rumored to have 120HZ

With every return and replacement my yellow tint got worse and the folks at the Apple store seem to see no issue. I will wait for the 13 and stick to my XR for now . Not worth the headache of spending $1800 including Apple care to be told to tweak stuff In order to enjoy the phone .

iPhone 12 still a great phone , but not worth its price tag , especially the pro and pro max. Apple it’s charging extra for keeping up with the competition!!! Samsung used oled since 2013. Apple introduced oled in iPhone X and charges $1000!!!

Got the iPhone 12 PM , manufactured in week 51! The screen quality is to my liking and do not have the Issues with the Oled not switching off.

have the slight gap between the display and the stainless steel sides (as pointed by someone above). For me that should be normal !

I would say not to sell it if it doesn’t impact the daily usage ! Not very smart to lose 150$! Sometimes, ignorance is bliss! I think I would have never found the issues (both the gap between screen and stainless steel frame and the grey issues, had I not read about thém online )!!

It all comes down to how big of a trouble it is for the person. I noticed the weird tint and the grey blacks right away, and found this thread. It was driving me crazy how ugly it looked compared to my iphone x.

Just on the left and on the top ! I think it differs from phone to phone ! But I think you cannot fit in the screen without a slight gap! The previous generations had a rubber gasket between the frames and the screen ! Current flat design means , we no longer have this gasket in between and we see gaps ! I bet everyone would have that ! It doesn’t impact the water resistance as the glue is on the back of the phone and not on the sides ! So enjoy your phone without worrying too much :)

Hello, how do you find out what week your device was manufactured? Also do you mind letting me know what factory yours is manufactured in, mine says factory 1 (F1) in settings. My iPhone 12 has green glow issues and screen tint issues

I wouldn’t sell it if it makes me lose $150. People are annoyed that a $1000 phone has a defect, then proceed to spend an additional $150 on it? That doesn’t make sense.

I hate the display problem as much as anybody, but to be 100% honest I don’t see the green tint unless I’m looking for it. I spent several hours a day on my phone in the past several days, and I don’t notice it.

In the mean time I enjoy the smaller bezel, lighter weight, squared frame, and larger memory.

I ordered for my 5th iPhone 😂 today and I hope the problem is not there anymore. This is awesome. I can do this all year long. Either I get lucky or when iPhone 13 is released I return mine and get a full refund and order for iPhone 13.

As I insisted before the iPhone 12 series was a rushed series. Apple was expecting to use 120Hz displays on the iPhone 12 series, however, due to mass supply issues relating to the 120Hz display IC (they reverted back to 60Hz using previous components they already had in the warehouse)

The iPhone 12 series is a churner (previous parts slapped together and rushed to market)

another conspiracy theory 😂 previous parts put together , well thèse so called previous parts didn’t have any issues with the iPhone 11 series . And going by sales numbers , this is another super cycle for Apple ! So, I guess the so called previous parts wouldn’t meet the demands ! So , let’s not give mis-information here !

Sorry, I doubt that the displays for iPhone 12 are previous parts. The 12 comes in 5.4, 6.1, and 6.7 inch flat OLED screens. These sizes are not available in previous models. The 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max had curved 5.8 and 6.5 inch displays respectively.
