iPhone 12 OLED Screen Issue

Agreed. I returned my launch day iPhone 12 Pro hoping the issue would be resolved by this time but if the fix comes it will likely be towards the iPhone 13 Launch or even after that like with the iPhone 11 recall.

Haha same, lots of people still hopes for a software fix but that’s not happening.

It’s just annoying how apple messed up the screens. Apart from having green glow there’s a yellow tint too, awful displays...

Yea same here. Booting up, and watching YouTube videos it is very noticeable. How do we go about getting this thing fixed? No Apple stores are open (Covid 19) and I am not willing to send off my only phone in the mail.

How do you check the display serial number?

Mann ich weiß nicht was los ist! This is crazy, could you share some more details of the iPhone 12 that didn’t have the problem? Like serial number beginning? I know it probably may not result in anything but worth a try. Where did you get them from?

Same in Belgium Apple store, they won’t acknowledge or believe you. I couldn’t return my phone anymore and they didn’t want to help me because I did not buy the phone in apple store.... I don’t use my phone anymore and went back to my old one. Shame of the 859euro I paid for my device but it is wat it is. I have not other options....

Same in England when I called the online sales to return my iPhone 12 Pro Max - the guy on the phone didn't comment about the green glow but said he's got an iPhone with a white screen, not yellow, and didn't know what I'm talking about and said he can get me a phone with a white screen - if he doesn't know the issue then how can he be sure he doesn't have a yellow tint? No thanks, it's going back and I've ordered 11 Pro instead.

Exactly. How can he know that his phone has white screen if he haven’t seen differences in screens?! That’s basically admitting. Good for you that you could return it, I had less luck and stuck with mine wich I don’t use anymore btw. It’s total rubbish screen and ugly to look at. 11 or 11 pro is the best choice. Good job

I understand your point but believe me the yellow tint is horrible to look at, compared to my previous X from 2017 it’s a nightmare. X display is perfect and it’s 3 years old. Have not checked the green or black pixel turn of on unit in store, that’s true. I tried the trick with the filters but this drastically changes max brightness wich you have to increase manually resulting in battery to drain much quicker, this is in my opinion not a solution but a workaround and should not be the case on the 12 series.

I agree, the yellow tint looks really bad and you shouldn't have to waste time trying to fix it yourself by changing hue and using workarounds.

This is basic functionality and apple was doing it fine so far with all previous iPhones so the best iPhone that they've ever done (iPhone 12) should not have a FAULTY SCREEN! Especially for this price tag.

Yes I agree we should receive a perfect screen. I remember when Steve Jobs introduced the iPhone 4 with Retina display he talked about how important a screen is saying “A screen is a window into your phone”. He is probably rolling in his grave now.

Amen to that. Totally on the same page. Their calibration of whites is completely off and cannot be fixed with software so it’s manufacturing thing and so a flaw in the design.... such a shame voor this expensive brand. This is the last iPhone I ever bought, the most expensive one too but I just hate the screen colour so unusable for me and my eyes. Even my son s iPhone 6s has a nicer lcd panel to look at :-). Will stick to my X till it dies end the buy another brand with perfect screen. Fed up with the fact that Apple doesn’t recognise this as an issue.....but for many people it is clearly an issue.

Guys this thread is specifically about the green tint and flickering issues. but it is slowly turning into a 65 pages of various apple rants. Can we keep the topic limited to the issues at hand? inacurate whites, true tone feature, apple now vs apple then, are not a part of this problem. I’m following this thread to see if anyone has any update about the first two issues, or to help people having the same issue. But having to read through all these irrelevant posts is making it really hard to get any useful information out of this place which totally goes against the purpose of the thread in my opinion.
